What a great tour!

If only we had made time for the tour earlier in our trip! What a great way to see portions of the city away from the main "tourist areas". Our tour guide was enthusiastic and fun and the food was delicious. We highly recommend this tour.

Unique and great tour!

The Chicago food tour was great. It blended Chicago's culture and architecture with great food. They provided a nice variety and the samples were plentiful. The store employees/owners were very accommodating. Our guide, Nikki was enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The only thing I would change is the fact that the ending location differs from the starting location. It was no problem for me, but I could see out of town people being a bit intimidated. But our guide was able to provide detailed directions (with different options) on how to go wherever you need. Definitely worth it! I wish they would offer more tours!

My wife and I enjoyed the walking and food tasting tour very much. The tour guide was very knowledgeable . The length of the tour was about right and not too long. We did walk back to our starting point, but probably should have gotten a cab, as we were tired when we got back to our car. I would recomend this tour.

This is about the 10th time I have visited Chicago. I found out about this tour from a friend. It was different, entertaining and good exercise.

A GREAT sampling of Chicago food and history!
Sun, Jun 24, 07   2:00 PM jokuma Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Nicky (our tour guide) led us on a 2.5 mile path through Chicago's great neighborhoods and showcased a few of the best local eateries! We visited a range of food places from a spice shop to a chocolate lounge! Our group loved some of the places so much that we went back for more! Especially since we were given coupons for our return visits! Not only did we get to sample great food, but Nicky was extremely knowledgeable about Chicago history! We learned a lot about the neighborhoods that we walked through. Overall, the tour was well planned, well plotted and well timed! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago!

A pleasant surprise

This was a very good tour. Just a few minor suggestions. We felt the portions were a bit scarse. We had our 15 year old nephew with us so I don't think everything was satisfying. He would have liked more. I agree somewhat. At the deli only 1/2 of a potatoe pancake was served. At the spice shop you only got to taste a few spices. The pzza was fantastic at O'Fames!! The four in our party really enjoyed that. At least you got 2 pieces. Our guide, Nicki, was terrific. She really knew her stuff. Took us to places we've never been. Would have been nice if the group had been able to purchase some of the items at each establishment. Being south siders I can't say we'll get back in the northern areas anytime soon. And, what about the out of towners in the tour. I'm sure they would have like the opportunity to shop as well. Overall, the tour was a pleasant surprise; interesting and we had fun. Thanks. Are there any other food tours available? It would be nice to know for the future.

i almost felt bad that i was making my nieces (16 & 18) do this with me. it did not take long to see that they were really interested and enjoying our tour guide, nikki. i loved the shops we went to. each one was unique and interesting. most of all, the knowledge that nikki shared, the history of chicago that she shared with us was so invaluable. there is so much we learned from her. my nieces raved about the tour! i only wish we had had the opportunity to do it right when we arrived in chicago -- so we could have gone back to the stores to do some major shopping!!!

The food on the tour was good with some nice presentations at the restaurants. The tour guide was very well-informed and friendly. My favorite part of the tour was being able to go all over different neighborhoods of the downtown areas. We are new to Chicago andd wanted something different that the regular tourist spots. Because of this tour I'm sure we'll spend more time downtown!

Good tour; great food samples.

The tour was interesting and the food was excellent. My group was small so we got a lot of personal treatment. I enjoyed learning about the history of the neighborhoods. There was a lot of walking (I definitely got my exercise) but we got a chance to rest while we sampled the food at the various eateries. I would definitely take another tour like this. It was my first visit to Chicago and this was a great introduction to the area.

Our guide Shawn was funny and enertaining. The food is good and there is a nice variety of food. You also meet people from other parts of the country while you walk and eat. There is alot of walking but you stop frequently. The walking was not a problem for anyone in our group but this tour is not for people in bad shape or that can't walk very far. Highly recommended if you like sampling foods.

This activity combined food, architecture, history and walking and added up to a great experience. I highly recommend this to someone who wants to learn more about Chicago neighborhoods and what makes them unique. The food shops are all interesting and the proprietors were very welcoming. I do want to note that this is a walking tour and there are some long stretches of walking between shops and neighborhoods.

GREAT FOR A TEAM BUILDING OUTING

Tad, our guide, met us promptly at 11:45. He was a very personable young man and I knew right from the start that he was knowledgeable about the city. The tour began at 11:00am and lasted until approximately 2:30pm. All of the food stops and historical/architecture lessons were great....although our entire group was from the Chicago Suburbs, we all learned and saw so much about the city of Chicago that we never knew! It is a lot of walking so you need to wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

our tour guide was awesome and very patient, we were the group from Los Angeles, and since we were a bunch of paparazzi she was so cool with letting us take pictures at every stop. this tour was different, entertaining, and informative. it was a good way to get exercise, try new foods, and get a tour of chicago while being fed @ the same time. since i have never been to chicago, this tour helped us to see parts of the city that we would otherwise have not seen. i would recommend this tour to anyone, in our group, there were even a couple of locals who went on this tour! yummy & fun!
