Great Culture Lesson

My fiance and I enjoyed the tour very much. It was not only fun, but gave me a good history of some of the neighborhoods of Chicago. This was my first time to Chicago, and I learned a lot about the culture of Chicago life past and present. (The food was good too...especially the spinach pizza at Bacinos!) Our tour guide, Nikki, was very well informed, and fun. I would enthusiastically recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chicago.

I really had a great time on the tour and (surprisingly) learned a lot about the city's architecture & history - not just the food! There were 7 restaurants on our tour which made for a quick & compacted tour. I would recommend to drop the visits to 5 stops to allow for more time and tasting at each venue. I will go on another tour as soon as possible - hopefully the Chinatown tour is next! Thanks!

Great tour!! We had a small group which made the tour even better. Wonderful way to learn about different areas of a city. Food was wonderful, would recommend this tour to any "foodie".

This is our second food tour in Chicago. The food was good and the tour was very interesting. I found our tour guide to be very friendly, maybe to much at times. He tried to hard to be liked. I would recomend doing this as a couple, group or a single. I think kids would be bored and the walking may be to much for a small child

Not big on "tours" and coming from VA for a short weekend, I wasn't sure what we would encounter. Absolutely LOVED the whole thing. Great shops/restaurants/great guide/ lovely group and lots of sunshine. Made the trip very memorable!!!!

Our guide was Nikki. She was wonderful. The tour took us through several neighborhoods that we visited again and again while we were in town. The stops were also very unique. You would never visit them on your own. The oil and spice shop were really off the beaten path, but I'm so happy I was introduced to them. I see a long relationship between me and the oil shop. But I loved all of the places. The information that was given to us on the tour was also excellent. I know so much more about Chicago now. I even bought the book "The Devil in the White City" about the World Fair because it was mentioned on the tour. Ending at Ethel's chocolate shop was a perfect end to the tour. My friend and I went back every day. The map and coupons were something we used the rest of the trip. I do wish the map was a little more detailed, but we worked it out. I'm looking forward to future taste tours offered by Chicago Food Planets in other neighborhoods until I have eaten everywhere in Chicago.

Okay! If you like to graze, soak up some history, see a chunk of Chicagoland by foot please do this tour! The pace of eating and walking prevents food coma and serves you up some exercise. The variety of eateries is great. Fancy pantsy to hole in the wall, each stop had a distinct niche. We hit 3 of the six up the next day and used our coupons for souvenirs and more treats. Icream required a revisit where they made lemon meringue pie goodness that was right on target for taste. Our guide, Kent?, was witty and truly a clutch part of our experience. If you like to try new things and are open to new food this tour will offer you a great look at the buckhorn and wicker park area. Nearby Ukranian village is a short few blocks away and Division street holds a host of groovy shopping.

This was a great activitity for us. We not only enjoyed all the food stops, but the great commentary by our Food tour Guide. Especially enjoyed walking through the Near North neighborhoods. Jessica, did a great job! I would definitely try other tours.

My husband and I took just took part in Chicago Food Planet's first walking tour of the year, and even though it was very cold, our guide Shane made it very fun and interesting. We have raved about it to our friends and family and encourage all who are thinking about doing the tour to try it - you won't be disappointed!

My wife and four boys, 3 of whom are 18 and older, all enjoyed this tour. Hillary was fantantic - smart, enthusiastic and fun! The stop I thought would be the least interesting, the Oil Shop, was the most interesting. Definintely gives a 'taste' of Chicago. Highly recommended.

weather was perfect. everyone kept a good walking pace. variety of tasting places, however there were a few in the group that didn't appear to appreciate more than one visit to establishments that served choc. the guide was funny and easy to talk to and very informative.

Such a fun way to see a different part of the city... I was charmed by the Bucktown/Wicker Park excursion and loved the variation of delicious eateries and cultural history along the way. My only regret was to not have pounded the authentic Chicago hot dog at our first stop. That way, I would have had room to consume every last delectable goodie on the tour!

This was by far the best tour we took while in Chicago. It delivered on all aspects: we learned about several negihborhoods and visited a cross section of family owned businesses that we would not have experienced otherwise. I would recommend that you take the tour early in your visit so you can revisit some of the shops. The tour is a must do for folks new to the area. One word of caution; there is a lot of walking involved and be prepared to spend the full amount of time and don't schedule anything too physical after the tour.
