Chicago Food Planet Food Tours

I found our tour to be good historical information as well as the stops were more interesting than I expected. Well worth it.

This tour was a combination of good food, their locations, the history of the food, tea, candy, olive oil and spices we tasted. We also were shown some historical locations and our guide told us some very interesting facts about each one. I learned alot of facts about Chicago that I didn't know. This is not just a food tasting tour but a learning tour. I would recommend these tours to everyone. Our guide was wonderful.

The food is eclectic and good. The guide is informed and pleasant. Each resturant was prepared for us and made us feel welcome. Take the tour.

If you are like me, and normally do not enjoy tours, I highly recommend this one. The groups are small and the tour guides are personable and engaging. Walking around, I did not feel like a tourist, only a local walking with a group of friends. All the samples offered were fantastic. Make sure you bring an empty stomach, the portion sizes are huge and a great value for what you pay.

Kate our guide was very good, other then the places and their food, knew alot bout the history of Chicago and its architecture. She'll try and get to know you during the walk and see what you think of Chicago, and very helpful on questions. Food was great and enough for the afternoon, if ur the hungry type probably get a bite to eat and bring some water. We had a perfect day for it when we went so it was excellent overall. Ive recommended it to my friends

We had a great time. The tour guide was very energetic and knowledgeable. The food was great. The other people on the tour were very friendly so we all spoke and had a good time together. I would highly recommend this activity!

Our guide Carrie was absolutley great. The tempature was extremely hot that day and she did a wonderful job taking care of the group of 13. She was very knowledgable and very in touch with the group. I would suggest this tour to others as a fantastic way to see Bucktown and Wicker Park area. The variety of restaurants toured are a fine choice, with thier own unique touches, from classic to exquisite. An interesting way to spend a few hours and learn about the area as well as get a taste for the foods of the neighborhood.

First of let me say our tour guide Chris was very fun and he really knows his history of Chicago. You can tell he enjoys his job. He actually made it a point to make sure he talked to each person on the tour, some tours I have been on the giude only talks to people he or she likes this was certainly not the case. I cannot pinpoint one specific place that was the best. If I had to I would say the Old town Oil would be 1st with The Spice House coming in a close 2nd. The rest were all good and the diversity of the places chosen were very well put together. I am in the food business so the two I chose were the one that appealed to me the most. I would recommend this tour for anyone in the business. We are already talking about when we can get back and take the next one.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO HAVE A GOOD TIME FOR THE MONEY SPENT THIS IS AN EXCELLENT TOUR ...WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT FOR ANYONE WANTING TO LEARN ABOUT THE INNER PART OF CHICAGO..(EATS , HISTORY) VERY ENTERTAINING.... (HAVE YOUR WALKING SHOES ON ! )

My 21 year old daughter selected this tour after viewing recommendations online, and we both loved it. Not only was our guide, Jess, extraordinarily knowedgeable about all the delicious food we enjoyed, but she had fantastic insight into the city's history and architecture. Getting to see a number of different Chicago neighborhoods was definitely a plus; we would not have become so familiar with the city in such a short time any other way. We will absolutely recommend this tour to others and will search out similar tours in other cities where our travels take us. Put on your walking shoes and go!

This well organized tour was informative and entertaining. The tastings were both delicious and filling, my favorite was Hot Chocolate and iCream. The guide, Nicole, was friendly, outgoing and a wealth of information. I recommend this tour as it is a great introduction to a neat neighborhood. Will definately revisit both these 'hoods on my next visit to Chicago. Hopefully there will be tours in other neighborhoods too.

We really enjoyed the Bucktown/Wicker Park Tour. Loved hearing about the history of both communities - and the contrast between them. Loved the homes and great variety of architecture. The food...too much! The best was the falafel at Sultan's - absolutely devine! Would definitely recommend this tour - and the Near North tour, too!

My husband and I signed on to the food tour as a lark on a recent trip to Chicago. What we got was a unique experience that was worth every cent of the ticket price, and the food was only part of it! The tour included some tastings you would expect--a deli, Chicago-style pizza parlor, bakery, a tea shop, and a chocolate shop. We wondered what we would taste at a spice store and an oil shop, but were more than pleasantly surprised. The amount of food was more than lunch fare, but the 3 plus mile walk helped to keep it from seeming like too much. In addition to the food tastings, we learned alot about the Gold Coast, Old Town, and Lincoln Park neighborhoods. We were educated on the different foods we tasted. And we got to meet people from many different places. Our tour guide was enthusiastice about the various places we visited, but also about the city of Chicago. I was amazed at how well she remembered the names of everyone in our group based on a one-time introduction. Next time we are in Chicago, we will surely sign up for the other food tour.

We, 3 couples, had a great time on the tour last saturday. Not only did we learn about the neighborhood but the food was fantastic! We will return on our own to shop and eat and are recommending the tour to friends. Great Job!!

Our guide was very knowledgable and friendly and the locations were some that we never would have seen on vacation unless we'd been on this tour. Highly recommended.
