This tour gave us an opportunity to see an area of Chicago that we would not have seen as regular downtown tourists. The food choices were really good and again allowed us to taste things that we would never have tasted.....eg the hot dog and the ice cream. Even tho it rained a good part of the tour the cultural/architectural part was most interesting.

A most enjoyable tour. The guide was energetic and well-informed. We appreciated her insights into the neighbourhoods that we walked through. It was a good combination of food information and local history. We would recommend it to anyone interested in Chicago history as well as those who like to walk and learn about food at the same time.

Jess was lovely, informative and fun. A perfect balance of food and local color. Most informative about the areas. Wouldn't have eaten breakfast as found starting with pastrami sandwich and ending with deep dish pizza, plenty.

This was one of the best tours I have ever been on. Our tour guide Jess was informative, animated and passionate about Chicago. We would highly recommend this tour but specifically with Jess as a tour guide. Keep up the great work. I would book another tour with this company...

As we met our tour guide Jess we were immediately impressed with her friendly and welcoming manner to our group of eleven people. For the next three hours she guided us safely through several neighbourhoods in Chicago with planned stops and food samples at seven very interesting local businesses, including a deli, a spice shop, an olive oil store, a tea shop, a candy store. The tour finished at a restaurant where everyone was able to try a favorite Chicago dish- stuffed pizza. All of the stops on the tour were so informative and we all learned a lot about Chicago history as we walked through the residential streets. The tour was just the right length of time with just the right amount of walking for the average tourist. The enthusiasm of our guide for her city was so engaging and made this an outstanding activity - we are so pleased we signed up for this tour, we recommend it highly, and will definitely take another on our next visit to Chicago.

I joined the Chicago Food Planet tour based on the recommendations on Trip Advisor. This is a walking tour through the Bucktown/Wicker Park neighborhood in Chicago with various stops for food tasting. The tour was exceptional! Our charismatic guide, Kent, was knowledgeable about the neighborhood's history (after all, it being his neighborhood) made it worth seeing from the popular tourist spots downtown. It was interesting to see the style of houses in this quiet neighborhood and glimpse at how some Chicago-ans live. Of the six food places we visited here are my comments on each: 1. George's Hot Dog - Get a taste of a traditional chicago-style hot dog. Great way to start! 2. Hot Chocolate - By far my favorite. Homemade marshmallow and cold chocolate drink was decadent. I wanted to come back for dinner. Decor was lovely. 3. Goddess & Grocer - Organic salad was nice but nothing special, grocery store was interesting 4. Piece - Nice atmosphere brewpub with excellent thin-crust pizza. The pizza slices were a bit large and I could barely finish. The beer was amazing but glasses were small. So I wanted more beer and (little bit) less pizza. 5. Sultan's Market - Good falafel but at this point I was really full. I took it back to the hotel but it became soggy because the amount of hummus they use. Probably the low point of the tour. 6. iCREAM - Extremely interesting concept that offers you nearly unlimited combinations of flavors. I definitely wanted to come back and experiment different items. Despite being thoroughly fed, you can't have enough ice cream. Overall I highly recommend this tour for anyone who loves food and/or want to experience something away from the bustle of the city. Please keep up the good job!

This was the best tour I have been on. Any tour is only as good as the guide. Jess was our guide and the tour was fantastic. She was friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. She made the tour interesting with facts and anecdotes. This is a brilliant idea, the diversity of the tastings and the shops visited ensures that there WILL be something you have never tasted before, and it's all good. There is just enough walking to get a feel for the area and to allow you to appreciate the beautiful architecture of this AMAZING city. Thank you Jess, for three great hours, and your excellent directions, I DID find the zoo and the lake!! Can't wait to return and try the other tours.

The tour was very well organized and we saw a lot of Chicago that we would not have otherwise had the oportunity to visit. The portions of the food and drinks that we received on the tour were very generous, and excellent quality. The tour guide " Kent" was friendly, knowledgeable and had a wonderful rapport with the staff/owners at all the locations that we visited. I would recommend this tour to anyone interested in the preparation and appreciation of good food, and experiencing another aspect of Chicago.
