I would have done this tour for the food alone, but there was far more than that. Along the way, tons of historical and current information was given about various neighborhoods and buildings that I otherwise would not have visited. Did you know Hugh Hefner's original playboy mansion was in Chicago?? Either did I, and thats why you should tae this tour. Oh, and the food is delicious.

over all I had a great experience, only slight criticism was that the guide did talk at a very fast tempo which sometimes was hard to follow

I didn't know really what to expect but was pleasantly surprised that it was so interesting and the food was diverse and very tasty. We had a group of eight people and that was so nice....not too big. I loved all the six stops. The guide was also knowledgeable about the architecture of the area...could have spent more time on that part. The only change that I'd recommend is putting the hot chocolate somewhere towards the end of the tour. Thanks again....a highlight of Chicago for me.

My husband and I highly recommend the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour. Kent was our guide and it was obvious he enjoyed his job. He had a great sense of humor and offered good information on the area. The food on the tour was excellent! Thanks Kent we had a great time!

Highly recommended, great intro to Chicago

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the knowledgeable, humourous and courteous guide, Hilary. She gave a thorough education with respect to the foods sampled and the neighbourhoods visited. She was particularly attentive in ensuring that everyone in the group felt welcome in the city. She did a very good job of informing us with respect to other tours available. We enjoyed all the components of the Near North, Gold Coast tour. The pierogies were especially delicious. One suggestion, the tasting of oils and vinegars, while delicious, really does require bread! I understand that from the perspective of a purist, this may mask the qualities of the oils. From the perspective of a taster, shots of oil were just too rich to handle on their own... an upset stomach makes it harder to appreciate later items. Despite this minor difficulty, we truly enjoyed the tour and would recommend them to our friends. Sincerely, Dawn Bryce 12 noon tour October 2nd, 2010

We joined a group led by a great guide (I have to admit I've forgotten her name, but not her stories). I think it was Ariana from Costa Rica, she was engaging, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The architecture was fascinating and the food was very good, especially at the Deli and the Spice and Oil shops.

Adrianna, our guide, was the most engaging, witty, funny, interesting and totally charming guide one can ask for! Everyone in my group loved the tour and came away really learning quite a fair bit in the process. this tour is a MUST-DO in my books, for anyone visiting Chicago! Cheers KL

My boyfriend and i were the first to arrive. We were greeted by Kent. A very warm and friendly welcome. We sat around for about 10 minutes waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. Where Kent informed us we were able to purchase water to walk around with. The group arrived and Kent started giving us a low down of what we would be doing on out tour. He spoke in a very enthusiastic tone and made it intriguing. We had a Chicago Hot dog. My boyfriend LOVED it. I could tell by the faces of everybody on the tour that so did everybody else. I just wish Kent would have eaten one with us. To see how much he enjoyed it. He talked about the the establishment and gave us fun little info facts about Chicago. We then moved down the street. We walked and talked to Kent. A very friendly man. Who loves the city he works in. We stopped in a park and he told us some history of Bucktown and Wickerpark. The only thing i would not recommend is the way he made the city sound now compared to what it was. He makes it sound like the rich had completely not cared about the music industry and the people living there and just made them all move into a different part of town. Just gives a unsettling feeling. we then moved to my favorite spot. Hot chocolate. Where Kent once again was unable to try the Marshmallow and hot chocolate. Where i wish he would have been able to. Kent is a very enthusiastic person. He makes everything he talks about exciting. We then stopped at a few places The Goddes. I just think if Kent is going to talk about delish sweets and have us starring at the delish treats in the case, don't have us sample a pasta salad. Made my mouth water the way he describe some of the delish sweets. We then took a wonderful walk where Kent pointed out everything we were looking out, He spoke like when he spoke it still amazed him even though he knew what he was talking about. He answered every question with a upbeat answer. We then stopped for Pizza. Where they had TV screens of the football game and the cubs everywhere so my boyfriend really enjoyed that. Finally we made Kent eat a piece of pizza. He told us all about where he is from, what his passions were and why he loved the city of Chicago so much. I thought that was a wonderful experience to hear something real about the person giving the tour. We then went on a walk in a park. Kinda scary if your not use to homeless people and drunks running around. He was speaking about a house and got interrupted by a homeless person. Kinda a award experience then. We then went to a middle eastern deli. We were not there long at all. Kinda got a feeling the group was uncomfortable. We left rather quickly. Then took another short walk and ended our tour at Icream. A perfect place to end the tour. Kent really enjoyed this spot too. He ended the tour with many thank you's. A very polite and wonderful host he is. I would recommend this tour to friends and family. wonderful upbeat and yummy tour.

We enjoyed this tour immensely. Our guide Ariana was knowledegable, enthusiatic, highly personable and well organized. The stops and samplings were nicely varied. The information and walking route for Old town and Lincoln Park was great. There was more than enough food for lunch spread over three hours. The walk itself was paced in a way to provide excerise but not be exhausting. The hosts at each establishment visited were friendly and welcoming. All in all it was one of the highlights of our visit to Chicago.
