Fantastic tour.. When Henry Ford was in business with Mr. Rockefeller he called MR. R and had a problem with the car line. MR. R flipped a few switches and fixed the problem. MR. R then sent a bill to MR. Ford a bill for $10,000.00. Mr. Ford called and questioned the amount. Mr. R said, OK I will resend the bill. He resent that bill... $1000 for his time to flip a couple of switches $9000 for knowing what switches to flip. Your tour was Fantastic because you know where to go and information about the local shops. ( What switches to flip) I have sent in orders to almost all the food shops and will recommend this tour to all my friends... nothing like going to food shops that are quaint, quality, and now a discovery to be revisited for that specialty food. the neighborhoods walk with the history and tidbits of the latest were educational and entertaining. I can't wait to do the other tour in Bucktown as I'm done the north one twice now. I bought tickets as birthday gifts to my 2 daughters and brother, what a special out of the ordinary gift and way to enjoy an afternoon with them. Your tours are great and conducted by excellent guides.

I took a group of 4 young women from my church group on the Near North Side Walking Tour. Our tour was on Oct. 11, 2009. Although we all live in the South Suburbs of Chicago...none of us have been to these spots. Everyone really enjoyed the tour. There was just enough time between walking and 'seeing'. The places we visited were great. There was only one thing that the ladies wanted, and that was to have time to shop! I'm not sure that this tour would make that possible however, maybe you could have a tour with less places and more shopping. At the Spice Shop they said that they would have rather looked at the spices more and not had the talk about cinnamon. But there were also some that felt that they learned a lot from the talk...so it is a draw. Our tour guide Kent was really good. He was considerate of the entire group, some were older than others! He also had quite a bit of knowledge of the stores and landmarks that we came in contact with. He spoke clearly and loud enough that we could all hear him. I will be taking our group on this tour again in the Spring. I would suggest doing this type of thing in other neighborhoods as well! Great Job. Sandy M

I am a transplant from Balto, MD. Every time I have company from my hometown, I bring them on this tour. One of my guests had taken the food tour last year on his yearly visit to Chicago, but wanted to take it again with another friend of ours who was also visiting. I pointed out that the food tour company had another tour we could try (Bucktown/Wicker Park), but he said that he wanted to repeat this one. He loved Old Town Oil and the Spice Shop and wanted to stock up again on oils, vinegars, and spices on the tour! So, that, of course, means that I have been on this exact same tour several times including the previous month in September when I had a visitor from Baltimore. I LOVE this tour. Jenn was my guide both times and she was excellent - so much energy, passion, and knowledge about the city and the food. The merchants that we visit are welcoming and have outstanding, quality products. I am looking forward to taking the Bucktown/Wicker Park tour in November. I have no doubt that it will be awesome.

The lady giving the tour truely loves the area and you can tell by the way she knows so much about the area. The food was great at every location I will go back to these locations again. It is alot of walking but you are having such a great time you dont feel like it is a lot because of the breaks you take

I'm not much of a tour kinda guy, but I really enjoyed this one. Getting to know the history of the area and enjoying really unique foods plus a great tour guide made this a really enjoyable event for me. Perfectly structured, timed and organized, plenty of food and lots of interesting people and places.

Looked for something different to do for my mom's bday. After searching online, ran across this tour and we loved it! Food was great and a nice way to explore the neighborhood. Only recommendation would be to bring along your choice of beverage. With all the tasting, no liquids are really provided throughout. Had a good time and plan on looking up another food tour next time we head out of town!

Had a wonderful guide who showed us the area and gave many good details about its history and current info. The restaurants were really wonderful. We all enjoyed this outing very much. I was really impressed as to how the neighborhood has come back.

The leader of the tour was friendly and very knowledgable about his material. The fact that the group was largely local did not put him off his game. The food choices were very good with the exception of Goddess & Grocer ( a different sample should be chosen). All in all an enjoyable afternoon with friends.

We were 12 Chicago-area ladies from the 20s to the 60s spending a fine day with our tour guide, Kent. From the food to the restaurants to the history and architecture, everything was well planned. If you want an easy going 3 hours with a bit too much good food, here is a great tour to choose.
