The wife and I are pizza connoisseurs and had targeted four pizzerias in the Chicago area but we were time constraint. What a wonderful surprise to find Chicago Pizza Tours was visiting the same places so we jumped at the chance. What a great time with great folks and amazingly knowledgable tour guide. If you are in Chicago with three hours to kill you would be a fool not to give this a try.

This was an outstanding experience. Jon is both humorous and informative in his presentations regarding the pizza and the city neighborhoods/landmarks. He also does a very nice job of mixing up the types of pizza at each stop so that guests can sample different varieties and styles. We highly recommend Chicago Pizza Tours!

I was a solo traveler for one week in Chicago and checked out the best tours in Yelp and that's where I found Chicago Pizza Tours. And thank god I did because I loved it! We had a small group that night which meant I got to eat more pizza! We went to Flo & Santos, Coalfire, Red Flame and Pizanno's. The pizza just got better and better throughout the tour. The transportation was fantastic, safe and offered great history tidbits along the way. Overall, I would and will recommend this tour to everyone I know passing through Chicago in the future. Best, Jef

Great pizza from a variety of great Chicago restaurants. I enjoyed getting a chance to make a pizza, also. My Own personal favorite was Gino East, my older brother loved the Polish pizza restaurant and my parents loved Piasano's pizza best. So it was all great and lots of fun. Thanks! The guide was very knowlegdeable about pizza. He toke us to 4 different pizzeria's of different qualities and different kitchen installations. I never knew that pizza could be this interesting. The guide was very sociable and kept everybody in the group of 14, interested and involved one way or the other. This is definitely a tour that I would recommend to anyone that loves pizza, specially in the City of Chicago. We all enjoyed every minute of it.

Went with two other couples. One couple is from Calif and the other was local. We stayed downtown that night so we walked to our first pizza place (Flo and Santos) where we met everyone else and our tour guide Jon. The pizza at Flo and Santo's is incrediable!! 2nd place was Coalfire-another great place, 3rd place was Redflame-which was probably my least favorite-but good. Last stop was Pizzano's which was DELISH! Jon was a great host-very acknowlegeable on pizza and the city. Our bus driver (Jim) was great too-extremely nice. The other people who were in our group made the night memorable-couldnt't of asked for a better group. The other two couples that we were with had soooo much fun. This tour is great for locals and esp out of towners!

My wife and I had some guests in from Iowa and thought this would be a good tour to show them a variety Chicago places. Boy, were we dissappointed. This should have been called the Chicago "Cheese" pizza tour. We had hoped to sample different pizzas and toppings from each location. We started at Pizano's and got a sliver of garlic and one square of thin crust cheese. We then went to Coalfire and had their famous Margherita Pizza, it was good but one slice of paper thin crust wasn't enough. Next we went to redFlame and had the quatro fromaggio. This was my favorite, but one slice of one kind of pizza. We ended the tour at Gino's East, finally we'll get a slice of their famous Sausage Pie. Nope, we got a slice of cheese pizza. No one goes to Gino's for cheese pizza. We had a group of four people and spent a total of $240 for the equivalent of one large pizza between all of us. That is a lot to spend on Cheese pizza. There were some vegetarians in the group, and maybe they catered to them. Or maybe this is the regular pizzas they serve. The tour guide did a good job, that is why I didn't give 1 star. A bit of advice for the future, get a variety of pizzas and give samples of each. As a group we didn't enjoy spending that much money to go somewhere after the tour to get more food because we were all still hungry.

This is a great tour for locals and visitors alike. Great opportunity to learn about the different approaches/styles of each pizzeria. John (tour owner) gives a background of each pizzeria plus a little Chicago history as well. Highly recommend!

Delectable Pizza and Tasty Chicago History Nuggets

Who knew dough could be thrown on a grill and that grilled pizza could be so delicious? Who knew the tragic details about why Oprah's studio is haunted? Who knew eating pizza and seeing Chicago with fresh eyes could be so much fun? The Chicago Pizza Tour is a no-brainer for out-of-towners. But as locals, we had a WONDERFUL experience, thanks to personable Jon and his ability to share his passion for pizza and the great City of Chicago. We now have four new pizza options that we look forward to sharing with friends. In fact, one week later, we're heading back to redFLAME for Father's Day to enjoy the Quatro and Big Mart. Yum!! If you're looking for a great way to spend an afternoon -- just do it! You won't be sorry.

this was more of an ordeal than an enjoyment, even though the guide and driver were great. Air conditioning was out and the route was changed and uninteresting.
