Chicago Pizza Tours

I loved the history that was explained at Pizano's. Loved the detail and facts about other kitchens and info about their secrets and styles. The pizza was good and the service was courteous and tour guide informative. While I arrived home full and glutonous (I actually had pizza for dinner!) the whole tour left me wanting more. More facts, more history, more personal stories about owners, more data. I wanted more WOW! I will recommend this to my friends but found that my friends was what made this day truly special. The pizza tour was good, don't get me wrong. But it could have been GREAT with more content. They are very new at this though. I have faith they will grow and learn and develop into greatness, just like our Chicago pizza business has. It's a great concept and great idea so how could it not become great?

This tour was AWESOME. John was a fantastic tour guide - he was very funny, passionate, and knowledgeable about pizza. It was so enjoyable learning the history and story behind each of the pizza places, and you get to see how they make it too. Oh, and the pizzas we had were delicious! ;) This tour is one you don't want to miss!

The pizza tour was great. Truly enjoyed the 4 places we visited; some a little more than others. Great variety of pizza and how it is prepared. I'd never been to Chicago before so appreciated the "talking tour" along the way to learn more about the city. My favorites were #1Pizanos and #2 Pequod. Least favorite was redFlame - it was so cold in there. it would have been better if Pequods had smaller pieces so all could have tried both kinds of pizza. I would definitley take this tour again. I highly recommend the Chicago pizza tour, not only to tourists, but locals, and suburbanites, as well. Purchased tickets for my hubby's birthday, and as a pizza lover, and foodie, to say he enjoyed it, would be an understatement. Not only do you get a tour of some of The best pizzerias in Chicago, but our guide also gave us a little tour of the city, and Chicago itself. The pizza was delicious, and the way they describe the process of making the pizza, down to the type of cheese, the sauce, how it is cooked, grilled, etc., you can't wait to sink your teeth into that first slice. If you get the opportunity to go....DO IT!

Our tour guide, Jon, was great! You can tell he has real love of Chicago, its history and its pizza. First of all, don't worry about leaving hungry. I'm a 27 year old guy, I eat more than most, and I left full. Second of all, the pizza was really good! Tried two kinds of deep dish, two kinds of thin crust, and tavern style. I also found my new favorite place (Pizano's). Depending on where you go, you get to see the kitchen, and at Spacca Napoli, the owner came out and talked to us for a while. As you can probably tell by reading my ramblings, I don't write reviews very often. However, I made an exception in this case because the whole experience was that good! I would definitely recommend the tour to other people. It is a great way to get to some pizza places that you otherwise wouldn't have known about. Loved the food but also loved the unexpected part of getting a bit of a tour of Chicago and experiencing some of the different neighborhoods while we were at it. Good for tourists and locals.

A must do for friends and family. The tour offered delicious food, humor, and Chicago history. Well worth it!

The best tour of any kind I've ever been on. All of the pizza destinations were fantastic. We had a very energetic group that got along very well and were practically best friends by the end of the tour. The tour guide had more knowledge about pizza and the Chicago pizza scene than probably anyone. I highly recommend this tour to any pizza lover.

Had a great time. Both the driver & guide were able to give interesting tidbits about Chicago as we traveled from place to place. Variety of places with how they prepared pizzas was great, fun to see the kitchens & cooking in action. Accommodating to vegetarian and having options at each place was great for a large group. Pizza was really good, just wish I had room for that deep dish cookie that was talked about at the end.

This was a great thing to do on a Sunday afternoon! The pizza was yummy and the beers were flowing:) The only suggestion that I think I may have is to have Paisano's either in the middle or the end because that was BY FAR the best pizza I've ever had! My group would also agree! Good times and would highly recommend the tour to others.

It was a great time....John has a passion for pizza and the City of Chicago.... We sampled the different styles at 4 different pizza restaurants....pace yourself, don't eat lots at the beginning.

Would recommend to anyone looking for something different to do in Chicago.

Relaxed, spirited and knowledgable leader made this a wonderful experience. The food was great. We learned a lot and had a great time. I'll definitely do this again.

Our tour guide was fun, informative and easy-going. We were a group of 10 (+1 who fit in great with us) so we didn't need any time spent on getting to know each other. I think that was a little bit of a curve ball for our tour guide but he adapted quickly! The restaurants selected were unique and the pizza was great. Going into it, we thought the price was kind of high but after doing the tour I truly felt that it was worth the money spent. Fun time and I would recommend it to anyone.
