Chicago Pizza Tours

Our family really enjoyed the pizza tour. John was informative not only about the pizza but of Chicago. It was a great way to fill our bellies and our minds :-)

My wife and I loved the pizza tour! It was our favorite part of a recent two day stay in Chicago. The pizzas were delicious, especially what we ate at Spacca Napoli. Jon was a wonderful tour guide. He had all of our names memorized by the time we arrived--impressive! He knows his pizza well too. Lots of fun. Lots of food. A wonderful way to spend three hours in Chicago!

I've gone on about 6 food tours since living in Chicago. I enjoy the walking component to them so as to walk off some of the overconsumption - which was different in this tour - I think I like walking better than being shuttled. I had a good time trying the pizza, however, I wish I could have seen the agenda before choosing this tour because I'd already been to 2/4 stops, which made me feel like this was a waste of money. I also probably only tried 2 slices in total as I didn't like the last two stops Red Flame and Pequods. I also feel that a more competitive price would be $45. There was also little information provided about the city or pizza spots that I've experienced in other food tours. The guide was friendly and knowledgable but I would't do this tour again.

I have been to Chicago several times now and wanted to do something different while I was out there this time around. We couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to take this tour, Jon the tour guide was unbelievable and was so enthusiastic about every place we visted. My favorite place was a new stop on the pizza tour Spacca Napoli which is neopolitan style pizza which uses fresh buffalo mozzarella on their pizzas which was to die for. I highly reccomend this tour if you are either visiting Chicago or are local.

This sums up our recent Chicago Pizza Tour. You EAT the most delicious selection of pizzas at a variety of the City's best pizzeria's (including the ones that are still a best kept secret!). You PRAY that at each pit stop there will be slices left over so that you can indulge your taste buds in further sensory overload. You LOVE every minute of the experience! John, the company Founder, was an outstanding tour guide, who was knowledgeable on all things pizza, informative on all things Chicago trivia and an all round great guy to spend time with. Had a superb group, which included 12 other pizzaholics, so the 'therapy' benefits should also be noted. One of the places we visited was SO incredibly good, that we made the journey back there the next day to devour a whole pizza (each!) on our way to the airport. Says it all ;)

Chicago Pizza Tours does a great job overall. I believe that the tour is not just for pizza fanatics...there's definitely much to learn about the city of Chicago through this particular tour. John is a very knowledgable and passionate guide...He will ensure that you get your money's worth! One cool feature about the tour is that you get out of the downtown area, and hit a couple of neighborhood joints, which is exactly what is intended. To give you an idea of how good the tour is....There were 2 pizzerias that I DID NOT like at all, BUT I still thoroughly enjoyed the Tour and had a wonderful time! How can you not have fun with pizza and cocktails?! My husband and I loved this tour, and the variety of pizzas and places we went to. Great taste of Chicago!

This pizza tour was a great idea, and it's a lot of fun. I would definitely do it again and highly recommend it.

I purchased tickets to the pizza tour as a Christmas gift to my boyfriend. We finally got around to actually going on the tour and we had a blast! All the pizzas were delicious, and it was really fun getting to meet the other people in our group. The only thing I would say is not true-to-description of the event would be the amount of pizza you receive during the tour. We went hungry to the tour because we thought that we'd be stuffing our faces, but in reality we were still hungry after the four stops we made for pizza. It was all great food, but we wanted more! All in all, a very fun date, though!

Fun tour and chance to meet other individuals with the same hunger for good pizza. Four places we stopped at interesting and provided very tasty samples. Would have liked Mike to have provided more on-going dialogue about Chicago trivia as we drove from place to place. Our driver Jim, several times, prompted Mike what we were about to pass. Gave me the impression I wished Jim was the guide. No serious complaints against Mike, but just needed to pass on more trivia.

How does a group of local co-workers provide a flavor of Chicago to out-of-town colleagues? Take the Chicago Pizza Tour! Combining a sampling of some the best pizza in town with a guided tour of Chicago sights downtown and in the neighborhoods, our guests got a tour of "our kind of town" and we locals learned a lot too. Tour guide/owner John was tremendously knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining, and his pizzeria selections were intriguing, varied, and delicious! And because the selected stops change, even a repeat is a treat! Another bonus was meeting the fellow tourists from around the country who enjoyed the tour with us. We all highly recommend this great tour.

My son and I greatly enjoyed the pizza tour!!! John was very friendly and knowledgable about Chicago and pizza and tomatoes and cheese. :) Our group was very fun and added to the enjoyment of the day. You can't go wrong taking this pizza tour with John! Oh, and Jim the driver was great fun, too!

The best tour of any kind I've ever been on. All of the pizza destinations were fantastic. We had a very energetic group that got along very well and were practically best friends by the end of the tour. The tour guide had more knowledge about pizza and the Chicago pizza scene than probably anyone. I highly recommend this tour to any pizza lover.
