Chicago Pizza Tours

Each pizza place was great in its own way! the Tour guide kept us interested the entire time. He was very knowledgeable about pizza and the city. I would definitely do the tour again! I loved that he changes the places each time! I would recommend it to everyone!

Went on the tour while in Chicago for Valentines Day. It was amazing. The entire group was great, the guide/owner was fantastic. We got to not only try great pizza all over Chicago, but see different neighborhoods and get historical and general city information. One of the most fun tours I have ever been on. I would definitely do it again an recommend it to anyone that likes pizza and is going to be in Chicago. Thanks again John!

The Chicago Pizza Tour was fantastic! We have lived in the city for about a year and took the tour to see if it would be good for our family and friends when they visit. We loved the experience - the pizza was great, John was funny and informative and we left the day feeling smarter about pizza and the city! The Dough Force One was great to tour the city in and each restaurant we visited felt unique. This is a strong recommend for tourists and locals...what a great way to experience Chicago!

My sister and I bought tickets for ourselves and our dad for his birthday. We loved all aspects of the tour: John, Jim (and his crazy driving), the city's history, all of the background information about the pizza and pizzerias, the variety of pizza styles and toppings, the overall atmosphere, the pace of the tour, etc. It must be difficult to plan a pizza tour that makes 15 people happy, but I think John managed to do that. I highly recommend this tour!!!

This was a lot of fun! I originally booked the tour for the regular Pizza Tour for Friday, but luckily, I got bumped up to the Thursday night Pizza & Cocktails, and so glad I did. It was a full tour (about 12 in the group), and we all got along really well, especially with drinks in our systems. :) We got four different pizzas (and a drink) at four different pizzerias. They were all really good and it's hard to say which was my favorite...I liked them all! I would definitely recommend this for anyone visiting the Chicago area.

My son and I really enjoyed the Original Chicago Pizza Tour. We were only in the city for a couple of days, so it was fun to do something a little different, learn a lot about pizza, and get a brief tour of Chicago (including interesting info) -- oh! and taste a variety of one of our favorite foods at four different places! John, our guide, pulled it together nicely and made it fun. The price may sound a bit high, but you get so much more out of it than just a few pieces of pizza. Already planning to go back to our favorite restaurant for more!

We *just* did the pizza tour today. A rare Friday tour, our group was small, which afforded us to really get to know our guide, Jon, and to see some of the smaller pizza stops we may not have otherwise seen (like the home of the Obama family's favorite pie)! The good reviews are all true. Jon is a wealth of knowledge about the art of pizza and the city, and the bus driver is a hoot. We had at least one slice at every stop and were well taken care of by waitstaff and/or the owners of each pizzeria. Every time I ate a new slice of pizza, I thought that one was my favorite. And even though I tallied six slices, the three-hour tour was the perfect amount of time to spread the dining over; I didn't end up stuffed (though I nearly did nap afterwards!). Each place was different enough from the others that I'm not certain I could pick a favorite. This is a well-designed tour by an enthusiastic crew. The hubs and I have been to Chicago many times, and it's a shame we've only just discovered this tour! It was an outing we both really enjoyed, and should definitely be a must-do on your list - whether you're in from out of town or local. Thanks so much, Jon et al!

Would recommend to anyone looking for something different to do in Chicago.

I gave the Pizza tour to my parents as a Christmas gift after my Dad had expressed interest in it. Over all they said they had a great time, but here are a couple suggestions. Better control of portion size: my Dad said his favorite pizza on the tour was at Coal fire, but he was disappointed he only got one piece. Secondly, on the Saturday of the tour, the final stop was Gino's East...also disappointing. One of the main reasons this tour is appealing (especially to Chicagoans) is that it stops at pizzerias off the beaten path. If you live in the city (as we have forever), or even the suburbs, I think you've most likely been to the carousel of Lou Malnattis, Giordanos, Uno's, and Gino's. Overall, my parents had a wonderful time though, and I've been recommending it to everyone I know as a great gift for the pizza nerd in their family. It's a great idea and, I think, in its early stages. They said their guide was incredibly knowledgable, fun, and friendly. I'm sure the kinks will be worked out soon enough.

We loved the pizza tour! We found the starting location to be very easy to get to (even with city construction) and parking even easier. Our tour guide was very personable and made a great effort to get to know all of us in the tour, he did a great job of making us a community even though we had not met any of the others before. We learned about each location, from the way they make their pizza's to how they came to be a restaurant. We also enjoy the bits of Chicago trivia that were shared as we traveled around the city. Overall it was a well organized and timed tour, lots of laughs, and great food! We would love to go again!

We really enjoyed this tour as something fun and new to do for a married couple's date! :) We had a great group that we toured with, and John was extremely knowledgable about the city, as well as the restaurants he chose for us, and the style of pizza we were to enjoy. A little pricey, but overall a great day and a fun time! We definitely recommend this tour!

Went to 4 great and very different pizza places. Not only was the pizza great, but the information/history provided on the tour was very interesting as well. John's Knowledge of pizza and the history of pizza in the city was very impressive. Highly, highly recommend this tour for anybody that likes/loves pizza. Had an Awesome time!

The tour started with a high five from Jon and ended on a very full stomach. We hit four very different pizza joints in in the city and not one was less than stellar. Jon's enthusiasm, history tidbits and friendliness made for a supremely fun addition to the excellent food. Any trip to Chicago should include this tour!

We had a great time and learned more than I thought. I highly recommend doing the tour!

I bought these tickets for my husband as a Christmas present, and it was a great present. I've never had pizza served so hot and fresh from (all of) the pizzaria's. Jon was so nice and knowledgeable about everything, he really made it fun. This tour is not just for "out of town" visitors. It was a great Sunday afternoon (great for dates) AND the bus was always nice and toasty warm in this cold Chicago winter. I'm going to recommend this to my boss who has business partners coming in from Italy soon....they would love this!! Thanks Jon, best wishes to you and your successful business!
