Chicago-deepdish-that's not all there is to the Chicago Pizza Tour! The three hours flew by on the delightfully narrated trip to four different pizza parlors in four different areas of Chicago. Sheer indulgence for the pizza foodie. John gave a great narration and worked diligently to make the trip enjoyable and heard by everyone. We missed out on the Pizza van as it was a hot holiday weekend and more participants so we were on a trolley which was not as expected-the van looked like more fun and cooler, but the pizza was fantastic. The Malnati's choice of crusts made a world of difference. The coal oven pizza was especially impressive, and the grilled pizza surprisingly tasty. One of our group preferred the deep dish at the East Coast, but the rest of us preferred the more esoteric choices. Just a matter of taste as no one left a morsel anywhere. We would have preferred one place provided a pizza other than plain cheese or marguerita just for the experience, as there were questions about choice of toppings and we only experienced one. We were ,however, edified about the crust by Jhn and that certainly enhanced our appreciation. Over all, a treat! Am recommending the tour to any and all friends traveling to Chicago. Great fun! |

I enjoyed the tour, our guide was great really friendly and knowledgeable. Only thing was almost evey pizza we tried was no meat so it sucked. Not sure if it was cause we had so many vegetarians on our tour, there were about 9 of them. Should of had 2 different kinds of pizza or at least did 2 out of 4 stops with meat. That is my only complaint would recommend this tour other than that. I have friends coming to Chicago in a couple of weeks and would really like to know if this was the normal thing to have no meat pizza's. |

This is a great tour for locals and visitors alike. Great opportunity to learn about the different approaches/styles of each pizzeria. John (tour owner) gives a background of each pizzeria plus a little Chicago history as well. Highly recommend! |

This tour was definitely the best part of our trip to Chicago. I bought tickets for my husband and I as a surprise for our 5-year anniversary. Jon was an amazing tour guide! He was very nice, funny and intelligent when it came to the Chicago area and their pizzerias. After meeting everyone in our tour just once he was able to tell the entire group everyone's name and where they were from. He put a lot of effort into making sure that everyone had a great time. The food was, ofcourse, amazing and you were able to eat alot. This is not one of those tours where you get tiny little samples at each location. We received 2-3 slices per person on our tour. Just a fantastic way to see another side of the city... |

What a fun and different way to get a flavor of Chicago's pizzas and learn the history behind these restaurants. My friend and I were looking for something do to during the day that was a planned activity and she stumbled upon this website. We did not know what to expect, but in the end were happy we took the tour. Beware, you do get filled by the last restaurant but you sample lots of great pizza along the way. Our tour director was great! Highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to eat good pizza while in Chicago! |

I'm pretty much a traditionalist when it comes to pizza (Malnati-style deep dish) but it was interesting to try the yuppie pizza. I found it to be good. The tour was an education in keeping an open mind. |

John is a great tour guide that knows how to get his group instantly acting like family. We learned lots of fun tidbits both pizza specific and general Chicago knowledge/trivia. We were pleased to try 1-2 pizzas at four different locations: all different both stylistically and with locale/neighborhood. Two of them we would never have found/tried on our own and those were our favorites! John obviously loves pizza and cares a great deal about his company. I would do this tour again if I come back to Chicago and would very enthusiastically recommend to others! |

What a great way to start our trip to Chicago. All you hear about is Chicago style pizza and with over 2,000 pizzaria's it's hard to figure out where to start! This tour solves that problem. John, our guide was super enthusiastic and extremely knowledgeable and took us to 4 great pizza places. They are all so different but all very delicious. My senior citizen mother loved this tour as did myself and my 13 year old son who loves to eat! We had some great laughs, met some great people and ate some wonderful pizza! If I ever get back to Chicago I will take this tour again. We even returned a few days later to Pizano's for dessert! Also a great way to see the city while going from place to place. You will not be sorry you took this tour. Can't say enough good things about it! |

Who knew dough could be thrown on a grill and that grilled pizza could be so delicious? Who knew the tragic details about why Oprah's studio is haunted? Who knew eating pizza and seeing Chicago with fresh eyes could be so much fun?
The Chicago Pizza Tour is a no-brainer for out-of-towners. But as locals, we had a WONDERFUL experience, thanks to personable Jon and his ability to share his passion for pizza and the great City of Chicago. We now have four new pizza options that we look forward to sharing with friends. In fact, one week later, we're heading back to redFLAME for Father's Day to enjoy the Quatro and Big Mart. Yum!! If you're looking for a great way to spend an afternoon -- just do it! You won't be sorry. |
