I booked this tour due to the # of positive reviews but was disappointed with my tour. I expected to receive several options of pizza to tantalize my taste buds and help me formulate an opinion. At the first restaurant our guide ordered 2 pizzas and insured the 4 different combinations were sampled. This was excellent! However, after this first stop the variety and the amount of pizza ordered stopped too. Our tour guide limited our group to one pizza per restaurant and the group was asked to select the type. Due to this restriction, we only received one slice of pizza per restaurant . Hence, I wasn't able to truly enjoy the variety of pizza that I expected. I would recommend the tour, because I enjoyed the information. However, I would recommend that you explore in advance if more than one pizza will be ordered at each restaurant. My tour experience was not worth $80.

In preparation for this tour, I ate very little the night before and had only an iced caffeinated drink in the morning. The pizzas were delicious. Even with just the one slice per stop, I was already full by the 2nd pizzeria. The great thing about this tour is that they will take you to the different styles of pizza available in the Chicago area, both deep dish and thin crust. Our tour guide Mike was adorkably awkward and our driver was laid back and cool. If it's your first time in Chicago and you want to try the different pizzas in Chicago, this is the place to do it. The tour meets at Pizano's, a pizzeria in the Downtown Loop. They then drive you to the different locations for the other three pizzerias. For me personally, I'm not a huge pizza eater. It wouldn't be my go to food, if given a choice. But these pizzas were GOOD. I loved the cheese in Pizano's. The mozzarella was amazing. At Coalfire the Margherita Pizza was delicious. The simplicity of the flavors really let the ingredients shine. At Pequod's the pizzas are deep dish, but the crusts are more bready than the ones at Pizano's. If you normally order garlic bread as a side and love it, you will love their crusts here. Our final stop was Flo & Santo's. This was a super thin crust pizza. Their pizza was not to my preference, but it was still good. Mike, our tour guide, was very informative, albeit very awkward. He was pretty funny most of the time and Soap, our driver picked up the slack in the funny department. If you're a pizza lover, you'll definitely want to try this. If you're not a pizza lover, you'll still want to try it, just because the food is amazing. I'd go again just to see if we'd go to the different pizzerias on the list.

we really enjoyed our pizza tour. we are from the chicago area, but had the opportunity to try some new places, and learn more about what makes some of the best pizza places in chicago so great.

The pizzeria selection was very diverse and showed us a broad crossection of what is available in the Chicago area.

John the owner and tour bus guide of The Original Chicago Pizza Tour should be made ambassador of Chicago. He knows his pizza and also the city of Chicago. While on the tour, we sampled different styles of pizza and learned about Chicago pizza history. We also got a drive-by tour of Chicago while on the pizza bus. A fun and yummy tour!

Combining a sampling of some the best pizza in town with a guided tour of Chicago sights downtown and in the neighborhoods, our guests got a tour of "our kind of town" and we locals learned a lot too. Tour guide/owner John was tremendously knowledgeable, engaging and entertaining, and his pizzeria selections were intriguing, varied, and delicious! And because the selected stops change, even a repeat is a treat! Another bonus was meeting the fellow tourists from around the country who enjoyed the tour with us. We all highly recommend this great tour.

I thought I knew everything I needed to know about pizza, turns out I was wrong! John was very informative and being able to sample pizza in this was - really helped me to compare styles!

Highly recommend the pizza tour. Learn some interesting stuff, but best of all, eat lots of awesome pizza! They're the only one with a bus, which was great because I never would have tried some of these places on my own--too far from downtown. And then I would have missed out on some of the best pizza I've ever had.

The pizza tour was our first activity after our arrival in Chicago, and it was a wonderful way to orient ourselves to the city and its food. Jon was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining. The ride was fun and informative and the food was plentiful and delicious! Will definitely bring other friends to experience this super tour!

Great pizza from a variety of great Chicago restaurants. I enjoyed getting a chance to make a pizza, also. My Own personal favorite was Gino East, my older brother loved the Polish pizza restaurant and my parents loved Piasano's pizza best. So it was all great and lots of fun. Thanks! this was more of an ordeal than an enjoyment, even though the guide and driver were great. Air conditioning was out and the route was changed and uninteresting.

We were a group of four adults and had a terrific time. The tour was organized, on time, informative, educational and delicious! We sampled pizzas from the most publicized to the out of way. We especially enjoyed Pizano's and Pizza "apart"...we all highly recommend this tour!
