| My wife and her best friend had a great time learning about the various nationalities that lived in the area and the food that they brought with them. Even though I work in the area our guide, Clarissa, even taught me a few things. She was both insightful and entertaing at the same time. All the food was delicious!! |

| We had a wonderful (albeit rainy) time with our outstanding tour guide, Calisa on the East Village Flavors of New York tour sponsored by City Food tours. Our guide was extremely personable and knowledgable, having been both a chef and having a degree in the food sciences. Our group of six was extremely pleased with our guide.
With regard to the stops on the tour, we would have to say that half was very good to excellent and half was only average. Highlights were the stops at Veselka (A Ukrainian restaurant) and Chikalicious (a dessert stop where, unfortunately, our guides hoped for food was sold out). Average were the stops for an egg cream where the soda fountain was out of order (had to make with bottled sparkling water) and the pizza stop.
I would hope that City Food Tours will look to upgrade these stops to make this a more competitive option in the increasingly competitive walking food tour universe.
I would encourage all visitors to NYC to take one of these types of tours. We have been to NYC twice for fun and have taken a food tour of the LES (with the Enthusiastic Gourmet- very good) and now the East Village, and have found both to be a fun and informative way to see neighborhoods of the City. |

| I enjoyed the tour which gave me a good overview of food in NY and bits of history of the area. My guide was very into food and we had loads of time to chat over different things foodie :) I would recommend this to anyone visiting NY from overseas as a fun way to get to know a real aspect of New York away from the tourist hum drum. |

| Our group of three people greatly enjoyed the food tour. Our guide, Kalisa, was very knowledgeable and personable........it was obvious that she was a "foodie" herself and her enthusiasm was contagious. We've been looking for the quintessential NY pizza experience that we remember from when we were kids.......and finally found it on this tour! I highly recommend this tour and can't wait to go on another one next year. |

| TERRIFIC MUNCHING IN THE EAST VILLAGE!
It's so easy to say that you've been to the East Village, but you never get the opportunity to just pop in to some of these places, have a quick bite and split!
Thoroughly enjoyed the FLAVORS OF NY TOUR with the beautiful 'Clarisse' .. .. We were even a few minutes late because the 'E' wasn't running and Clarisse tried to get a hold of us just as we met up with the group!
We got to meander around the vibrant East Village popping in to try a few deserts, a great slice of NY pizza pie, a cup of cold cucumber soup and even a papaya dog =))) .. ..
The weather was perfect as was the tour - Even my 85YO mama loved it and covered just enough ground for all of us .. .. She even wanted to backtrack to the places we visited to eat more and buy more food!
THANKS CITY FOOD TOURS!!
ps > I loved the food selection of the tour, but I noticed a lot of these tours include an awful lot of deserts - Is it just me? For myself I would have loved more 'food' and just a bit less 'desert' .. .. But that's just me .. .. Thanks Again .. .. |

| Klarisa (sp) met us with a very friendly way about her, and her informative, cordial and helpful tone carried through the tour. We enjoyed our little snacks throughout the East Village and would recommend it to friends here in NJ.
Thank you! |

| Our guide Kalista was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. It took us to an interesting part of New York city we were unfamiliar with. |

| I had a great time on the tour with Kalisa - she was friendly, informative and it was obvious she was a real foodie! The food was all great and it was really good to get to see a part of the city that felt more like a neighbourhood with real people living there.
The next stop on my tour down the the East coast was Philly and I enjoyed this tour so much that I tried to get a food tour there too, but unfortunately it didn't fit with my schedule. I guess it gives me an excuse to come back again and do more of the other tours :-) |

| Our guide Kalisa, a culinary school graduate, ( a true "foodie") was very knowledgeable of the local fare of NYC. The tour was a epicurean delight spritzed with a NYC ethnic history lesson and a little architecture icing. I highly recommend that you sample the tastes of the east village on this tour. |
