Seller Description:
Chef, former Philly restaurateur and Penn Grad, Robert Weinberg, along with fellow Tour Director Eric Matzke, are well versed in all things food and Center City. You'll be sure to have a great introduction to RED wines, WHITE chocolate, and BLUE cheese, all produced by artisans right here in the USA. We won't ignore milk and dark chocolate, or other great cheeses, so don't worry.
Robert was a co-owner of the acclaimed restaurant, Beyond Measure, on Sansom St. during the mid-90's. He is active with the non-profit MANNA, which feeds homebound people with life-threatening illnesses, cooking in their kitchen part-time.
Eric has lived in the city for more than 11 years and has extensive teaching and tour-guide experience. He also completed a number of culinary classes at The Philadelphia Restaurant School.

Activity Description
To celebrate the birth of our nation, City Food Tours is taking you on a tour of Red, White & Blue American foods in the heart of Center City Philadelphia! On this entertaining and delicious 2 ½-hour tour, you'll sample a patriotic and decadent selection of the city's best artisanal and hand-crafted foods, including: - A flight of California RED Wines
- Sinfully rich WHITE chocolates
- A vast array of American-made BLUE cheeses
You'll explore how the foods are made, meet the culinary experts who prepare them, and learn what to look for in truly great food.
The tour will end in one of the city's great restaurants, Tavern 17--the perfect location for continuing your adventure with a drink or dinner. Tours are perfect for individuals, couples, families and out-of-town guests!
With less than 20 minutes of walking and more than 2 hours of indulging, this tour is relaxing and enjoyable for participants of any age and ability.
What Is Not Included?
You must provide your own transportation to and from the tour.
Be sure to bring extra cash or credit if you plan on eating or drinking at the restaurant at the end of the tour.
