Hello. My sister (27), mother, and I have been to Manhattan many, many times. However, we always feel we eat at the same type of spots. This walking tour took us to a new area. WIth the wonderful help our our fabulous tour guide, we learned the history of the area we were in as well as tasting great local spots. The food was delicious, and exactly what we wanted out of a two hour tour. The walk was not strenuous at all, which was great news for our feet. I would completely recommend this tour to any local or tourist who wants to spend a small amount of money for a great two hours of fun and food! |

We enjoyed an excellent tour of the changing Lower East Side and the local artisanal food vendors found in this area. Not only did we sample tasty, quality food & drink (the coffee at The Roasting Plant was out of this world for this java-junkie) and chatted with proprietors, but we also learned the history of the LES and how this neighborhood has evolved. It still retains a great local flavor and vibrancy with the mix of artists, the food artisans and the long time residents. This tour was very family friendly (my child loved the hand-made ice cream), not at all strenuous, suitable for both locals and tourists and was a different, enjoyable way to experience NYC - via great food! Nicole gets 5-stars for being enthusiastic, knowledgeable and extremely patient with the barrage of questions we had. We'd do this tour again in a heartbeat and highly recommend it for everyone. |

I've taken a number of tours around the city with different companies and this one was certainly the most memorable. We snacked our way around the LES and every stop was as enjoyable as the last. Our guide Nicole was so personable and informative. She covered all the bases - from the LES's history, to present culture, and of course the food (as well as the story and people behind each shop!). The ticket cost is worth every penny. The tour blends history, culture, and food - and you certainly don't walk away hungry! |

My parents were visiting from Wisconsin and are always looking for new exciting ways to spend their time in NYC. This was perfect. It was a small group. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and for me (as a local) it was a fun, and my parents loved it. It was a little sneak peak into places that I will definitely visit again. All of the restaurants were happy to see us. Which reminded me of how connected to the community a small company can be. Oh, and wonderful food too!!! |

Short and sweet: the tour was fun and I would recommend it. Now for the details...
My wife and I were visiting New York for the weekend. Two young ladies who live in the neighborhood joined our group. This was definitely a good size group. Any larger would have inhibited our ability to hear the discussion and to fit in the small shops we visited. Our tour guide, Nicole, was fun and interesting. She was respectful of our time, but didn't rush us. The tour didn't take us all that far from the starting point. It is easily walked by anyone of any age. I would have liked to go further and see more. The highlights of the tour for me were the donuts and the coffee. The Donut Factory makes really interesting donuts - flavors I've never had before - and the freshness really makes a difference. The Roasting Plant Coffee Company was fascinating for me more for the technology than for the coffee, although the coffee was very good. There were some disappointments for me, however. We took the tour on Saturday and, of course, all the Jewish shops were closed. The Jewish influence is a big part of the lower East Side and skipping it made the tour seem incomplete. That is no one's fault. But, the tour could have been more in-depth and better coordinated. It seemed at some stops that the people behind the counter didn't know our tour was coming or, if they did, didn't care. I took a walking/eating tour of Federal Hill in Providence and it was much better because there was a greater variety of food, we felt more welcomed by the proprietors, and we got more food to eat. For me, it's all about the food... |

The only thing I did not like was the last stop on the tour. The Greek holistic place stunk! I would of loved a sandwich or pizza or anything but that! I could not get rid of that taste the whole day.
Matt was very full of love for his job and it shone though. I enjoyed everything he talked about and showed us. My sister and I had a ball. It was our last few hour before heading home and we had a great time. Thanks all. What other cities do you tour in? chrissy@metterfamily.com |

We loved the tour and found it very interesting filled with humor and history about the area and the food we were eating! It had a wide range of foods, from doughnuts (awesome!) to pickles...or rather pickled foods - I had a baby carrott, and it was spicy! We would definitely recommend this tour! |
