| I always enjoy the different food tours of the City . You can not go wrong. If you stick to the more touristy attractions then you miss alot. Learning about the people both present and past through the neighborhood history and the food is a great way to expand your knowledge and obtain a different view of NYC |

| Laurie took us to some hidden gems, places we would never have found on our own. We enjoyed listening to how coffee beans are selected, cheese is made etc. It was really fun and our guide was especially friendly and accommodating. I would suggest just a couple of things to improve the tour to a level of excellence. First of all, it would be great if we got some information from the proprietors of the local businesses that we visited...about the product, how it's made, what to look for etc. Some of the owners/employees spoke with us but not all. I would have loved to learn more about how the pizza was made - the owners etc. Second, tour should definitely include more information about the location as we walked from one destination to the other. We passed some old dilapidated buildings (one was a synagogue), some facts about the rise of real estate in the area, and point out some significant historical sights. I did a food tour in Chicago and i loved it was a history lecture and a food tour at the same time. Overall, it was fun. |

| I've lived in NY my whole life, and loved this. There were good size samples from the places we went to. I expected a little more history of the area, but it didnt matter. We had a blast. Cant wait to do the other tours! |

| Despite the drizzle/rain, the tour was a good overview of the area through history, food and ethnicity. The other tour members from the Tenement Museum were an added treat. |

| Our fearless leader, Nicole, did a lovely job. She was cheerful, enthusiastic and knowledgable. The walk was not strenuous -- just enough to be ready for the next tasty treat. We appreciated that the tour finished near the start point. |

| We ended up with a private tour with Nicole. She was awesome! She knew a lot about the history of the area as well as the food we tasted. We had a fantastic time and highly recommend this activity! |

| Laura was our tour guide and there were only the 3 of us which made it even nicer. We got such a better understanding of the way people live and thrive here. It was so interesting to tour some of the "Mom and Pop" stores. For the most part, the store owners were very helpful and engaging and were very patient answering our questions. Laura, of course, was the highlight of the tour. She is a professional cook, friendly, and was very detailed whenever we were asking advice on cooking or about a store. We learned alot and can't wait to try the Ethnic tasting tour. We will be telling all of our friends about this wonderful experience. Thank you! |

| Did not like this tour at all. Food choices, order at which they are placed in the tour, and the quantities are definitely below expectations. I did the Greenwich village tour and believe me, it is worth every penny.
This one definitely needs some work to make it better.

| We've done other tours where the guide/proprietors were much more generous with the tastings. On this tour, each sample was much too small. For instance, when at the chocolate shop, small truffles were cut into 6 pieces. Granted, there were 3 truffles, but hey, how about each person gets his own piece of chocolate? Same with gelato, doughnuts, and pickles. Coffee was one per person. |

Great way to visit a very "flavorful" community .

| Our tour guide,Nicole ,was punctual and enthusiastic. Our first stop, the Doughnut Plant was nothing but a whole-in-the-wall -- but, boy oh boy the doughnuts were out of this world delicious. We certainly got the "flavor" of the neighborhood as we tasted bialys, gelato, pickles, cupcakes, and piadas -- take the tour and you'll find out how good they are! We especially enjoyed soaking in a little of the history of the neighborhood. We spent a few minutes in the Tenement Museum gift shop and walked down the narrow streets with the fire escapes hanging onto the sides of old apartment buildings. You could almost feel the hustle and bustle of the immigrants from days gone by.
I'd highly recommend the tour to famiies. My daughter, who has learned about the Lower East Side in school, really enjoyed seeing, tasting and feeling a part of the culture.
You will leave the tour satisfied! |
