Interesting look into parts of New York we might have missed! Food tasting was fun, delicious variety. Our guide was very knowledgeable about not only the stops on the tour but had many great suggestions of places to go!
Best donuts ever! |

Good tour and guide very knowledgeable. Lower East Village very charming with good eats. Highlight for us was the Roasting Coffee House. Fresh made cup per order. Donuts from Doughnut Plant was exceptional. Best I ever tasted. Would have been nice to go in the actual shop though to see how donuts made. Most of the places the owners didn't come out or talk to group. Would have added to tour. Regardless, good tour. |

My husband and I had a great time on the Lower East Side Artisan Food Tour. And while the food we sampled was good, what made the tour special was our guide, Matt, and the fact that we were a small, friendly, compatible group (there were just five of us, including Matt). Good weather also helped. Getting back to the food, we were pleasantly surprised by the diversity of the food offerings on the tour -- from freshly roasted coffee, to the tres leches doughnuts, to the curried popcorn (which I could have lived without), to the spicy guacamole, to the fabulous Greek food we sampled at Souvlaki (like being on a Greek isle). The only slight disappointment was not being able to sample a fresh bialy or a juicy half sour pickle. (Both shops were closed as it was a Saturday.) But we would definitely go on another City Food Tour -- and highly recommend any tour led by Matt. |

This tour was very informative and featured great food - and a lot of it!
The only drawbacks were that the neighborhood was a bit scary and we went on a Saturday when all of the Jewish shops featured on the tour were closed. I would have loved to have been able to tour and sample those shops. |

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. The food we ate was terrific. Because it was a holiday weekend, even the Sunday Hassidic places were closed but the tour supplemented with others. Everything was great and we will try another tour. |

There's nothing culturally Jewish about this tour

The Jews first settled on the lower east side, and we expected the tour to reflect its rich cultural heritage. Our guide was ignorant about Jewish history and the history of the area. She kept repeating that the Jews were persecuted for being Jewish. Profound, I know. She basically took us from one ethnic restaurant to another--Greek, Italian etc...with virtually no explanation of the surrounding environs. For great food tours, use Foods of New York, which is infinitely superior. |

Our tour guide could have been a little more enthusiastic, she seemed a little unsure of herself, maybe she is new. The food was great. Would maybe like something savory between sweets. We did both sweets together at beginning. |

Took a group of very sophisticated 14 year old girls on the tour for my daughter's birthday. Was a lot of fun and the history lessons coincided with what they were learning about in school. Wld definitely reccomend |

I traveled to NYC with two teenagers (ages 15 and 17). We enjoyed the tour very much. I can't recall the name of every food stop, but we enjoyed all of them. The kids particularly liked the donut stop, the pickle guys, the candy store, and the greek restaurant. I liked them all. I highly recommend this tour. We learned about the neighborhood and about its food. It was an easy walk. Our tour guide was pleasant and knowledgable. |

This was my second food tour in NYC. The food selections were great but the other tour was MUCH better as far as history. This one had almost none and I was interested in learning about the ethnic and architectural history of the areas covered. |
