We enjoyed the tour and Erica was reasonably knowledgeable about the LES. We thought the tour would focus more on the age of the LES, but actually went to some very new places. We were disappointed that our Friday tour was rebooked to Saturday when the Jewish places were closed. Overall it was fun, we enjoyed the food but most enjoyed the older establishments, eg. Doughnut places, Essex St market. |

A nice mix of a varied taste of foods, from shops/purveyors within a few city blocks. From gourmet donuts, pickles, and spanikotas to name a few. Highly recommend this tour |

The tour guide was enthusiastic, knowledgeable AND willing to adjust the tour to the participants. She didn't rush us but kept a comfortable pace. |

Recently, my wife and I, both native born and raised New Yorkers (who believe The World stops at the east bank of the Hudson River), took your lower east side tour.
Not only did we go to some interesting and unique places that not even we knew, but our guide did an outstanding job of weaving local history, ethnic food history, and current neighborhood events into the tour. All and all an enjoyable and informative adventure in one of the more interesting parts of The Greatest City In The World And The Center Of The Universe. |

The tour was really quite a lot of fun. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and read the group very well. It was a smallish group (5) and mostly local, so there wasn't a whole lot of need to explain NYC or the neighborhood and we just got right to the food. I'd definitely recommend this tour to both visitors new to New York or locals looking for a fresh perspective on a section of the city. |

Our intelligent, well-informed, personable and enthusiastic guide both educated and delighted us with a wealth of knowledge not only about NYC neighborhood history and lore, but about food preparation and enjoyment as well. |

As a grandparent, I appreciated our guide Nicole's consideration of our grandson's food preferences (no vinegar, mushrooms) and her overall knowledge and interest of the foods and Lower East Side. The Austrian dumpling was outstanding. |

Our group had so much fun! We loved visiting each shop and enjoying the fare--and our guide, Matt! At the outset, it turned out our bus would be arriving later than we expected. Joyce was SO helpful to calm our fears and assure us that we could be part of the tour as soon as we arrived. We, being not so savvy in NY, she helped us navigate with clear instructions. Our guide, Matt, also was so kind(as we did arrive late and missed a stop) and understanding (fun too!) and even brought us a sampling from the first stop! (which he did not have to as the info stated clearly you should be on time and even early which was totally understandable) We were expecting a tasting, but instead had an abundance of delicious food! We enjoyed delicious doughnuts, coffee, wonderful guacamole, brick oven pizza, and a large serving of Greek fries and skewers of seasoned pork and chicken with a tasty dip. There was ample water and time given for restroom breaks. We ended at a unique candy shop with candy from today and yesteryear. We also listened to interesting histories of many of the shop's beginnings as well as local history. We visited a farmer's market and had a few minutes to walk there also. All in all, I would highly recommend this tour to others. It was fun meeting the others from our group and enjoying the food in a relaxed atmosphere! It was a part of NY we had never explored before! Thanks, City Food Tours!!! |

Matt was our guide, and he was excellent. He not only took us to different establishments to sample the food but he also gave us a history of the Lower East Side, telling us about each food place when we went there. The small group was a good size and we had the opportunity to talk with others in the group about the food and about other places to visit in New York. I plan to do this tour again the next time I visit New York City. |
