| My wife & I were visiting NYC for our 26th anniversary. We'd been on typical bus tours. This was different. We enjoyed the insight our tour guide provided about the cultural & historical background of the areas: Irish, Jewish, beat, etc. and especially liked visiting the neighborhood shops & specialties: the pickle maker, the bialys maker, the super fresh ground coffee shop, the "wild" flavored gelato maker, the terrific donut maker--my wife liked the carrot cake donut the best, the chocolatier who kept giving us more samples, and the cheese maker shop, etc. and sampling their wares while they explained how they produced them. We got a good sense of the places and neighborhoods we visited. It was obvious that the relationship between our tour guide and each of the shop owners was strong and well established. We felt as if we were just moving into the neighborhood and being introduced to & welcomed by everyone.
Very personalized tour. All our questions were answered even if a little bizarre. The tour was never hurried, but was well paced. We have already told our family & friends about it, even those who have visited NYC before were interested. |

We came all the way from San Diego and were not dissapointed. The Pickle Guys were the bomb diggidy! We'll try one of the other tours next time. Later dudes! |

| My friend and I have previously taken the Chelsea Market walking tour and this tour
didn't even compare. Nearly every business we visited was so small we couldn't go inside and there were only 6 of us on the tour. We weren't able to see how the food
was prepared and served. The tour guide was informative but not especially engaging. Two thumbs down!! |

| The tour was great and our tour guide Laura was amazing. She took time to answer our questions and helped us decide what to do after the tour was over. The places we went to were sensational. I had made other plans on how to celebrate my 40th birthday, but they fell through. The tour may have not been what I was planning on doing, but it was what I should have been doing. You know the Rolling Stones song "You don't always get what you want but you might just get what you need". Well that was the case with this tour. I highly recommend this tour. I will definitely be doing another food tour with this company. There are some many areas to explore. |

| I live in New York, and eat out a lot, so I consider myself quite knowledgeable about the culinary treats in certain parts of the city. But this tour showed me multiple beautiful local venues I've never seen before. The food was great, but I would not recommend it if you are not open to culinary novelties. The tour guide was great. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable, since she is a trained chef. So if you want to talk about great food as well, she's the right one for you. Me and my girlfriend ended up buying a couple good things at Essex Street Market to continue the culinary adventurous day. All in all a great date, but perfect to do with friends as well. |

| The tour guide was a professional chef that graduated from the Culinary Institute.
The tour was informative and fun as well as entertaining. Tastings were great. I look forward to touring another neighborhood in the near future. |

| Nicole gave a very complete overview of the neighborhood and its residents over the generations. She answered our questions and seemed to have good rapport with the business owners. This simple tasting of the goods from quality small shops made it so much easier to make a return trip and purchase with confidence. The foods were of excellent quality and even the day-old doughnuts were really delicious on our road trip home. |

| We really liked the LES food tour, led by Jennifer. On our short trip to NYC, it was nice to go to a neighborhood we wouldn't normally get to and learn about the LES history. The food we sampled was all fantastic, although we did not get to try the pickles because it was a Saturday.
One thing to note, other reviewers said they did not need lunch after the tour. I would beg to differ! We only had a few bites of food to sample over the 2 hours & were actually starving when the tour was over!! |

| My husband and I took this tour back in April...I was holding out on writing the review because the guide promised to send us a list of the restaurants/shops we visited and through that email I was hoping to be reminded of her name. In any case, she was great!
We started the morning with donuts (cake and yeast) and then moved on to bially, pickles (my favorite), coffee, cupcakes and pizza. The donuts and pizza are vying for the title of husband's favorite.
The tour's meeting location was easy to find, the walking easy and the back stories entertaining. I would (and have) recommended this tour to my friends. |
