| Conrad was excellent, informative, well organized, and very thorough.
I would definitely recommend and will try a different tour the next time.
I would recommend you advise the some places are closed on Saturday's due to the Sabbath..I was anxious to go to the pickle place and it was closed! |

My husband and I took the tour and we were the only ones on the tour. Our guide was good and knowledgable. We thought that there would be more emphasis on the ethnic Lower East Side, but that is our mistake because the tour is named the Artisan Food Tour. All in all I would recommend the tour.

I took my parents who were visiting New York city on the lower eastside tour. Not only did they learn a lot, but so did I and I have lived in NYC for 9 years! Joyce is extremely knowledgable not only of the food world, but also the history behind each of the places we visited. It was the perfect mix of culture and good eats! I highly recommend this tour!

What a great tour! The tour guide met me at the appointed place and time and we were soon off on a informative, well-paced tour of fascinating food venues of the Lower East Side that included chocolate, pickles, bialys, coffee, donuts (not really a fair description of the wonderful tastes and textures), and other foods. The guide was extremely knowledgeable as well as courteous, responsive, and great to talk with. This was my first tour with CityFoods (I've been on similar NYC tours given by another group) and I definitely will book more activities with them. Thanks, Conrad, for a super tour!

My tour guide Conrad was very nice and had obviously studied information on the Essex Market and surrounding area. Going to a different location and learning the history of the area was interesting but having attended several other Foods of NY tours that we thoroughly enjoyed we did not find this one as interesting or as good a value. The tour only lasted 2 hours instead of the 3 hours on the Foods of NY tours and the area was not as nice or as interesting as Chelsea Market or Grenwich Village. Also the food was not nearly as interesting nor did we visit as many eateries. I would highly recommend the Foods of NY tours, but not this one.

My husband and I loved this tour of the lower east side! We visited a bunch of interesting food locations, including a unique coffee shop and chocolate stops, all kinds of places that make me want to visit New York City again. Our tour guide was great- he was down to earth, and he knew a lot about the area. I would recommend this tour to anyone else who is not from this area and who easily gets lost below the grid area of Manhattan, and who loves food!

My friends and I spent an absolutely delightful morning with Conrad, our tour guide sampling the hidden culinary delights of the Lower East Side. It was fun to talk to the business owners and taste chocolates, cheeses and other confections. Conrad was knowledgeable and personable. Lots of fun!

I enjoyed walking in this area that I was not familair with but, I found the guide hard to hear (his voice did not carry) and understand. I found his comments were not especially informative.

The tour was enjoyable. I was with 2 first time visitors to NY and they said they were really glad that we did the tour. It gave them a chance to see another side of the city.
