| I thought the tour was great. Nicole, the tour guide was very knowledgeable and we visited fantastic sites. It really enhanced my visit to NYC. |

| The tour was great and our tour guide Laura was amazing. She took time to answer our questions and helped us decide what to do after the tour was over. The places we went to were sensational. I had made other plans on how to celebrate my 40th birthday, but they fell through. The tour may have not been what I was planning on doing, but it was what I should have been doing. You know the Rolling Stones song "You don't always get what you want but you might just get what you need". Well that was the case with this tour. I highly recommend this tour. I will definitely be doing another food tour with this company. There are some many areas to explore. |

| The only thing I did not like was the last stop on the tour. The Greek holistic place stunk! I would of loved a sandwich or pizza or anything but that! I could not get rid of that taste the whole day.
Matt was very full of love for his job and it shone though. I enjoyed everything he talked about and showed us. My sister and I had a ball. It was our last few hour before heading home and we had a great time. Thanks all. What other cities do you tour in? chrissy@metterfamily.com |

| I brought my mom on this tour (I have lived in New York for 5 years) for an early mothers day weekend. Both of us had a blast. And even though I've been living here for a few years, it was one of the coolest and most cultural experiences I've had so far. We learned all about the neighborhood, met so many interesting people who are so passionate about their food and work. It was inspirational. Now we're planning on seeing each tour! There are no drawbacks that I can think of, except make sure to bring cash so you can buy treats along the way! |

| Recently took the Lower East Side Food Tour with my wife and mom. We had a great time interacting with the shop owners. These folks are passionate about their food and it shows in the delicious samples we tried. Had the best dill pickles ever, right from the curing barrels at The Pickle Guys. Our Guide Nicole was wonderful, such a friendly and fun person to be around. She is very knowledgeable on both the food and the neighborhood around it. When you are done with the Midtown tourist sites and want to see the original culinary influences of this great city, give City Food Tours a call.

| This tour was ok, but not worth the $40. You can probably walk the neighborhood yourself and find all the food establishments. |

| This was a great tour. Nicole, was our tour guide, she was well prepared and had a lot of extra insight to offer, as she is a culinary teacher on the side. The Lower East Side has a rich history of people and food. LES is a part of NYC that I wouldn't have experienced without this tour. It's a very neighborhoody (is that a word) area and you will touch a different culture here. The tasting were delish... and the cheese shop my fav.... enjoy.. |

| Despite the drizzle/rain, the tour was a good overview of the area through history, food and ethnicity. The other tour members from the Tenement Museum were an added treat. |

Better Than Advertized!

| In some ways this tour was better than advertized, while still being exactly what I expected. As expected, the food was little tidbits of authenticity. The ticket price was more than fair at $40, considering that all these locations received some small portion of the ticket price for accomodating us and providing a sampling,
The old Lower East Side bakeries and shops provided ethnic samplings in settings that I have only read about in richly told stories from immigrant history. On my own, I could have walked into any of these shops without having a big impression. I could have passed them by and never have known what I missed. Our lively little tour guide, a chef, made all the difference. Her knowledge of the area's history and people unfolded with every step. She knew the back story of every shop and wove it into an expansive knowledge of the neighborhood.
We went to a pickle factory (row house size) and passed another "factory" a block away. Where else in America could that occur? We had fabulous gelato and coffee brewed from freshly roasted beans. We watched coffee beans roasting in a uniquely designed glass oven and dispensing system. We sampled a bialy from the oldest bialy bakery in the America. Who knew bialys existed?
The best was the Essex St. Market with the butcher, the cheese shop and the lollipop maker (green tea and honey!) The "Dark and Stormy" truffles weren't bad either. And cheeses, I thought could only be had in Europe, but it is the butcher who earned the brightest gold star. What a personality and what wonderful stories he told. He should be on Broadway. |
