| The tour was interesting. It was too bad that the horrible, rainy weather played such an adverse effect on it. The tour guide, Susan, was very knowledgeable and interesting. I was expecting the short knife demonstration to be more than just showing what knife was used for what purpose. I did learn about the "honing" blade though - I always thought that it was a knife sharpener. I might have enjoyed the "tasting" part of it more if there had been enough (even though small samples) for every one to have his own piece. I did take a brochure and will be passing it out to my friends who live in the area or who are planning a trip there. | ||||||

| Although this tour was not officially associated with "Top Chef", it certainly could have been and should be! Our tour guide, Nicole, was energetic, knowledgeable, and really seemed to enjoy our company. The length of the tour was perfect. We stopped at a wonderful Italian cheese shop that had been visited by contestants of season five. I can understand why they shopped there! The cheese tasting was awesome with Nicole providing us with some history (not too much) on making cheese. Next, we visited an Asian "bakery" which was a real treat! I wasn't a big fan of the pineapple roll we had but others were quite enamored. The "quickfire" at 24 Prince (?) was so much fine. The competitive juices were flowing, not to mention the delicious dips and breads we were treated to. Although I forget the name of the store where we had a mini demonstration of kitchen knives, I found the store to be charming and warm. My two sons actually made purchases for their kitchens back home! Last but not least, we visited "Witchcraft", one of Tom Colicchio's restaurants. We were again treated to a tasting of some delicious sandwiches. At this time we took a "Top Chef" quiz which was so much fun. It was great to hear all the "teams" trying to figure out the answers to the 10 questions. My sons and I were co-winners of that "challenge" and were awarded a little prize. This was a fabulous tour and I look forward to future correspondence to learn of additional tour possibilities. | ||||||

| We recently took the Lower East Side Food tour and had a blast. Our tour guide was very friendly and knowledgable. The food we tried was unique and top notch! My only suggestion for improvement would be slightly larger sizes for the food samples. | ||||||

| I had a great time on this tour. Our tour guide was helpful, knowledgeable, and blessed with a delightfully affable manner. She acted like she really enjoyed what she was doing. The stops were interesting, except for Motofuku, which I found to be way too noisy and way to crowded to be pleasant. I found Braczinsky's Meat Market a fascinating place because of the men that worked there. Most were Ukranian and spoke very good English. The veal loaf and cheese on bread was delicious. However, for me the star was the borscht at Verselka's. It was the first borscht that I have had that actually has a texture to it, in other words...was not pureed. The hot dog sample was too small and not a good representation, in my opinion, of a NY hor dog Overall, I enjoyed the two and a half hours and would consider another food tour on my next visit to NYC. CityFoods - - Bad policy

| We had planned a weekend in New York for 26-28 February 2010. One of our plans was to take the "In the steps of a Top Chef" walking tour on Saturday, 27 February. The Northeast was hit with a large snowstorm that Thursday/Friday. Our flight was cancelled. Every single vendor [airline (who cancelled the flight), hotel, restaurant, theater) returned our money/deposits. They understood that, due to circumstances beyond our control, we were not able to travel to this destination. Correction. Not everyone refunded our money. CityFoods refused to do so, saying we should have driven from Washington, DC to NYC in a snowstorm. They would not even exchange the tickets for a future event. CityFoods is a lousy company. | ||||||

| I had talked my friends into taking the tour and we were not disappointed. Our guide was charming and knowledgeable. The tastings were yummy and a nice mix of foods. thoroughly enjoyed myself and would be interested in doing another tour next time we come to town. A very fun three hours and the perfect amount of walking. | ||||||

| I have been to NYC many times but nothing compares to walking the streets with someone who knows it. I never watch Top Chef but it did not matter. This is the best trip yet .Foot travel with a local is always fun and we were stuffed by the time we finished. It was great value as well.I have paid a good deal more for tacky tours in buses, trams, and carriages. The guide was smart, fun and a pro in her field . She remembered our names.I cannot remember her name, lovely asian american woman that graduated from the french culinary institute. I will be sure to recommend this to friends and family. Loved it! | ||||||

| We booked our tour well in advance, but were greeted in NYC with the 4th largest snowstorm in history. Our flight was delayed, so we missed the tour all together. I called, but the tour was not refundable. The lady I spoke with offered to schedule us on a tour the following day, but insisted we pay an additional $15 to rebook. This would make the cost of the tour to us over $50 for a hot dog and pizza. It was nice of her to offer, but the rebooking fee was a little out of line. The weather was so bad, I would imagine a lot of people had to cancel. Sometimes policies could use a little understanding judgment. | ||||||

| Our tour guide, Susan, was enthusiastic and knowledgable. The food choices were very good and would appeal to a variety of people. Tour was held despite poor weather (heavy snow), but Susan made the best of it. We appreciated the call in advance of the tour suggesting an indoor meeting place because of the weather. | ||||||

| Great tour. Esp. enjoyed the market and the cheese stall. Go any day but Saturday, when many traditionally Jewish kitchens are closed. | ||||||
