| I always enjoy the different food tours of the City . You can not go wrong. If you stick to the more touristy attractions then you miss alot. Learning about the people both present and past through the neighborhood history and the food is a great way to expand your knowledge and obtain a different view of NYC | ||||||

| This tour was very well organized and simply a delight. In two hours we experienced a broad array of foods from authentic neapolitan pizza to cool vietnamese to sweet sweet chocolate truffles. The places on which the tour will go are not too far from each other, but just enough to listen to the guide describe the history of the area and each location. It's not just the food you're introduced to, but also the owners and operators of each stop. Just a wonderful time for all. | ||||||

| Laurie took us to some hidden gems, places we would never have found on our own. We enjoyed listening to how coffee beans are selected, cheese is made etc. It was really fun and our guide was especially friendly and accommodating. I would suggest just a couple of things to improve the tour to a level of excellence. First of all, it would be great if we got some information from the proprietors of the local businesses that we visited...about the product, how it's made, what to look for etc. Some of the owners/employees spoke with us but not all. I would have loved to learn more about how the pizza was made - the owners etc. Second, tour should definitely include more information about the location as we walked from one destination to the other. We passed some old dilapidated buildings (one was a synagogue), some facts about the rise of real estate in the area, and point out some significant historical sights. I did a food tour in Chicago and i loved it was a history lecture and a food tour at the same time. Overall, it was fun. | ||||||

| I've lived in NY my whole life, and loved this. There were good size samples from the places we went to. I expected a little more history of the area, but it didnt matter. We had a blast. Cant wait to do the other tours! | ||||||

| I enjoyed this tour more than I expected. My tour guide Kalisa was extremely knowledgeable about the area as well as about the food industry. Her high-spirited and friendly demeanor allowed her to make a group of strangers feel like a group of friends! Each venue was unique, and the tour encompassed a wide variety of tastes representing the culture of Nolita. Overall I was very pleased and I cannot wait to take another one! | ||||||

| Despite the drizzle/rain, the tour was a good overview of the area through history, food and ethnicity. The other tour members from the Tenement Museum were an added treat. | ||||||

| The tour actually consisted of only my husband and me, which was a lot of fun. Our guide was great- funny, personable, and ready to answer any question. I really feel like we got to see (and sample) some spots in the area that we never would have found otherwise. I would definitely take another tour from this company. It was well worth the money. | ||||||

| I had a really good time on the Top Chef tour. Nicole, the guide, was fun and knowledgeable. We got a good overview of several different neighborhoods in downtown Manhattan. The tour made some great connections to the show, but was also fun for people interested in food and NYC. I particularly enjoyed walking through Chinatown and learning about the markets on Grand Street. And, of course, the cheese at DiPalo's! All in all it was a totally worthwhile experience. | ||||||

| Our fearless leader, Nicole, did a lovely job. She was cheerful, enthusiastic and knowledgable. The walk was not strenuous -- just enough to be ready for the next tasty treat. We appreciated that the tour finished near the start point. | ||||||

| My wife and her best friend had a great time learning about the various nationalities that lived in the area and the food that they brought with them. Even though I work in the area our guide, Clarissa, even taught me a few things. She was both insightful and entertaing at the same time. All the food was delicious!! | ||||||

| We had a wonderful (albeit rainy) time with our outstanding tour guide, Calisa on the East Village Flavors of New York tour sponsored by City Food tours. Our guide was extremely personable and knowledgable, having been both a chef and having a degree in the food sciences. Our group of six was extremely pleased with our guide. With regard to the stops on the tour, we would have to say that half was very good to excellent and half was only average. Highlights were the stops at Veselka (A Ukrainian restaurant) and Chikalicious (a dessert stop where, unfortunately, our guides hoped for food was sold out). Average were the stops for an egg cream where the soda fountain was out of order (had to make with bottled sparkling water) and the pizza stop. I would hope that City Food Tours will look to upgrade these stops to make this a more competitive option in the increasingly competitive walking food tour universe. I would encourage all visitors to NYC to take one of these types of tours. We have been to NYC twice for fun and have taken a food tour of the LES (with the Enthusiastic Gourmet- very good) and now the East Village, and have found both to be a fun and informative way to see neighborhoods of the City. | ||||||

| The tour was great! The guide was enthusiastic, the food was wonderful and we learned something new at each stop. The mixture of information about Topchef, food in general and dining in the city made the whole tour very enjoyable. | ||||||

| I loooooooved this tour - it gave a great overview of downtown's diverse ethnic and cultural food culture while highlighting places, events, and challenges that are on Top Chef. Even though I've never actually seen the show, I really enjoyed the way our brilliant tourguide wove together the stories of top chef with the stories of NYC's food culture! This is a great tour for out of town guests, because you get a solid introduction to the NYC's cultural history. Also, the cooking tip sheets were really helpful as was the knife lesson! Plus you get to EAT! lots of tastes at lots of places! | ||||||
