Our tour guide, Carissa, was very knowledgeable and a great pleasure!! My husband and I had a great time even though it was bruttally cold!!! We will definately book another tour but will make sure to plan it for the Spring or Fall! | ||||||

| It was informative and fun and the food was pretty good. Would have happily paid $30 for the tour, so it's a little overpriced in my opinion. Tour guide was a doll... she was great & very enthusiastic! | ||||||

| Full marks to our knowledgeable and engaging guide Laura. This was an excellent tour that informed us not only about some wonderful handmade food but also about a fascinating New York City neighbourhood. We were supriised and delighted by the culinary specialties that awaited behind so many seemingly ordinary doorways. | ||||||

A Must-Do "Flavors Of" Tour!
|
|||||
| Tue, Dec 29, 09 11:00 AM | lizgalantino | Female | 40-49 | Domestic Tourist(s) | Individual | |
| This was a fantastic "flavors of" tour loaded with lots of yummy samplings of authentic pizza, hot dog and egg creams, plus ethnic-based, trendy and noveau foods found in the storefronts of the East Village of New York City. The guides were very engaging and along the way, and at each stop, brought in pieces of the history of the early settlers of New York and the long-time residents of the neighborhood -- as well as behind the scenes stories of the establishments. You felt truly honored to be hosted in each of the various locales and enjoying their yummy food... some made right in front of you! Bravo... this tour is a must-do for residents and visitors alike! | ||||||

Great guide - interesting party of the city

| The tour was a good introduction to a part of Manhattan you might otherwise never see. The food tastings were all good and we visited a wide variety of producers/artisans. Our surprise was how non-foody the rest of our group were - one even arrived for the start of the tour finishing off an egg mcmuffin!! - most, not all, seemed to be out for a nice walk rather than being that interested in the food. Our guide was excellent though, she was very interested in the food and obviously knew a lot about it. All in all a good value experience and a great intro to an interesting area of the city. | ||||||

| The tour was really quite a lot of fun. Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and read the group very well. It was a smallish group (5) and mostly local, so there wasn't a whole lot of need to explain NYC or the neighborhood and we just got right to the food. I'd definitely recommend this tour to both visitors new to New York or locals looking for a fresh perspective on a section of the city. | ||||||

| Enthusiastic, personable and friendly tour guide. Interesting stops were made and history shared. I especially liked the soup at the diner, the taste and atmosphere at the Ukranian meat shop and the compost cookie at the bakery and milk place. | ||||||
