City Food Tours NY: In the Steps of a Top Chef

Exceeded our expectations. Took us places we would have never gone on our own. Had a wonderful time!

We were initially drawn by the Top Chef reference, we were a little disappointed by the lack of Top Chef as related to the show on the Bravo network. We were fortunate to have a small group who were very familiar with the show and similar shows on other networks and we did discuss the show a lot, it was not specifically related to things on the tour. Amanda, our guide, was very knowledgeable, albeit more with the front of the house, she understands food and the restaurant business. She showed us some fanatic food which we sampled, every bit of it truly awesome. She also introduced us to some great people and great places that I would have never found on my own, even though we frequently visit the City. We would highly recommend the tour and Amanda to anyone interested in a wide variety of taste experiences in Chinatown, Little Italy and Soho.

Amanda was an excellent tour guide. I enjoyed this tour very much. I would recommend this to everyone and Im looking foward to doing another.

My husband and I like the Top Chef show and LOVE food. We thought this would be a good combination. Our tour guide, Susan, was very pleasant and helpful. She answered all of our questions, tour related and general city related. She was very patient with everyone in our group (8 total). There were two people in our group that were pretty rude, but we tried not to let it bother us. Although the description says that there isn't as much food involved in this tour as some others, my husband and I thought there was a good amount. We ate different types of cheeses, brownies, two types of sandwiches, and candy along the way. I thought the Top Chef could've been incorporated a little more, but wasn't disappointed at all. Only thing I would change is that we thought the knife demonstration would involve food and cutting techniques, but it really only included a guy giving the description of different types of knives. No cutting involved. Overall, we were very satisfied with our tour and would take it again! Recommended to anyone and everyone! Great for a date or for friends, or even kids. :)

Loved the walking tour and the food samples were varied and plentiful. Good group size at 7 of us. Would not want to be much larger. Beautiful day and loved hopping on the subway for our last "bite". Thanks for a different look at NYC. My friends and I have been coming to Manhattan together for a Holiday trip for over 15 years and we now have several new restaurants to eat at.

You don't have to be a fan of Top Chef to enjoy this tour, though it certainly helps. Our tour guide, Amanda, was informative, friendly, and really did a wonderful job. We sampled a great array of foods, from homemade hard candy to delicious Banh Mi sandwiches. Can't say enough good things about this tour!!

We had a great time on the tour. The guides were very knowledgeable and professional. The stops were diverse and the food was excellent.

We would have liked to see more on the 3 hr tour - it was a bit slow at times. the tour guide was great - very enthusiastic and knowledagable.
