| I am a chef at a nearby restaurant and took the tour to get to know the neighborhood a bit better. The UWS is great --- the proximity of Central Park, the Natural History Museum, and the beautiful expanse of the Hudson River make it an ideal walking neighborhood.... and perfect for a food tour. The tour showed me that that these city blocks are an enclave of delicacies waiting to be discovered. Nicole, our guide, was very well informed and even provided a history of the neighborhood and the development of culture in the area. She was fun and upbeat, encouraged participation from the group, and provided in depth knowledge of the fine products we were sampling....amazing cookies, exciting wines, and decadent chocolate! |

| Nicole is an excellent tour guide, very informative and a joy to be around. Although the chocolates were very good, I actually liked the other desserts better. I'm not a big wine drinker so the wine tasting was just right for me. It was very cold the day we took the tour but the we didn't suffer from the cold since most of the stops are fairly close together. This tour takes place in a part of Manhattan that we have not spent any time in before so it was neat to learn and see a different area. |

| My daughter and I took this tour on a rainy afternoon. She has recently moved to New York and I was visiting from out of state. She saw it has a great opportunity to learn more about food opportunites in NYC. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and extremely friendly. |

| My boyfriend and I went on the Upper West Side tour with Nicole. We made 6 stops and sampled a wide variety of great food. Our tastings included chocolates at two fancy chocolate stores, gelato, an amazing chocolate chip cookie, a sliver of pizza, and some wine and cheese. I would have missed a lot of these shops if I had been exploring on my own.
The sample sizes were good. They were enough to get a good taste, but small enough to make sure you had room to eat all the other samples later. I was glad I only ate a light lunch though because I was pretty full by the end of the two and a half hour tour. The pace of the tour was also good. It wasn't rushed and we were given time to look around the stores after the samplings.
Nicole was very friendly and knowledgeable and willing to offer suggestions about all sorts of things. I enjoyed when she discussed the history of the area briefly at the beginning of the tour and talked about chocolate making, but I wish there had been more of this throughout the tour. The tour wasn't quite as historical or informative as I had expected, perhaps because of the area where it took place, but it was still enjoyable.
Francois, the manager of the wine store who gave us a brief presentation, was great. He was very laid back and extremely knowledgeable. It was a great opportunity to learn about wine and ask some questions.
Overall, it was a fun way to spend the afternoon for someone visiting New York City. It was nice to get away from the crowds in the super-touristy areas and visit some locally owned shops. This tour has a "wandering around with friends trying lots of places" type of laid back feel so if you're looking to learn a lot about history or culture from a tour, you may want to pick a different one. Otherwise, it is a relaxing way to try some new desserts and get a general sense of the Upper West Side area. |

| We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable, and we had a chance to sample some very fine chocholates, the best cookies in the world, cheese that was fabulous, and organic ice cream which was very flavorful. The last stop was the wine shop where we tasted a number of tasty wines and received an excellent education about wine.
It was a very enjoyable 2 1/2 hours. We would definitely do another tour with City Tours!! |

| Our guide, Nicole, had infectious enthusiasm for food, wine, and how to eat her way through New York. It was the perfect amount of time, the right amount of people. I'd recommend this for adults (the kids would probably get bored and tired), absolutely! |

| My mother and I took the Chocolate, Dessert and Wine tour of the UWS, and had such a great time. We really enjoyed ourselves and learned quite a bit. We are both foodies that are crazy about chocolate and desserts, and what we enjoyed most was going to places we had never heard of and would not have known about otherwise. We even went back to a couple of the places before leaving NYC just to take some extra goodies home with us. We took a couple of other food tours on our trip, and this tour and guide, Nicole, were the best. I would highly recommend it. |

| My City Foods Chocolate, Dessert & Wine tour was fantastic! My guide was knowledgeable and friendly and the foods were delicious. The wine tasting was thorough and each merchant was personable and accessible. Overall, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys sweet treats and fine company. |
