City Food Tours & Events

I had an extremely pleasant tour guide, very informative and interactive with the group. She was a definite "city girl" and knew the answers to everything! I would take another tour again!

Our tour guide Dan was great - very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We enjoyed the food that we ate on the tour, but thought the portions were too small. For $50, we expected to get bigger portions. The 2 sandwiches were good, but I believe I had 5 yucca fries, 1 piece of candy, 1 churro and 4 small bites of cheese. It just didn't do it for me!

This tour not only exposed me to restaurants I would otherwise not frequent, but I got a historical insight of the city and the neighborhood.

My husband and I went on the tour, he was the only man in the group. We both thoroughly enjoyed it and will definitely recommend it to others going to New York. It was terrific...Susan was wonderful, very friendly and informative. The places we went to were very good and we would go back to the restaurants to eat. We would be very interested in taking another food tour. The group of woman in our tour were very nice, it was an all around enjoyable experience.

We enjoyed the tour and Erica was reasonably knowledgeable about the LES. We thought the tour would focus more on the age of the LES, but actually went to some very new places. We were disappointed that our Friday tour was rebooked to Saturday when the Jewish places were closed. Overall it was fun, we enjoyed the food but most enjoyed the older establishments, eg. Doughnut places, Essex St market.

It was ok, but the guide didn't really tell much about the history of the Lower East Side she just basically took us around in a loop. Other food tours give you full samples of food and not just a piece. Although the final stop was a full meal.

Our tour guide could have been a little more enthusiastic, she seemed a little unsure of herself, maybe she is new. The food was great. Would maybe like something savory between sweets. We did both sweets together at beginning.

The guide gave us the history of Manhattan.That was interesting info we didn't know from before.He was polite and awnsered any questions we had. Everything we tasted was very good, and we would never have found those local small bakeries on our own. We expected that the places we visited knew that we were coming. We thought we were getting a little tour in the places we visited. Not only taste their food. The wine tasting was good. They knew we were coming, and they told us a little bit about what we were drinking.

We have been on three City Food Tours (Philadelphia - Northern Liberties; New York - Lower East Side) and we have been very pleased each time. This time was not exception. The tour guide was excellent and he gave us a lot of great information along the way. The food was varied and outstanding at each stop. The only compliant I have was that there was never a time when we were able to sit down and relax for a few minutes. On each of our other tours, we had two stops where we were able to sit down for a few minutes. Two hours of walking and eating while standing was tough, but we had a great time anyway!

I have enjoyed other food tours of New York (not from this CO). The tour was fourty five minutes short we did not have the cheese blintzes and only had one opportunity to actually sit and enjoy a HALF slice of pizza . The Papaya hot dog stand was the Topper a member of our party didn't like saurkraut, our guide took our order with/without kraut; the half hot dog was served to her with kraut. The guide took her half of hot dog inside the shop and wiped the saurkraut off came back with the same roll ect, and said she tried to get it all off it should be ok!!!!!!. Come on !!!!!!!!!! you pay $43.00 plus a #2.00 online charge for every ticket the least she could have done was purchased another hot dog and offered the other half to her partner . NEXT TIME i will book from previous tour co and know the quality of food and tour itself will be excellent.

We loved this tour and our tour guide, Susan. It was a great tour of the upper westside with wonderful stops along the way at bakeries tourists would not nomally know about. The last stop, the beer and cheese stop, was lots of fun at a neighborhood gathering spot. We would highly recommend this tour.

Adrienne, our tour guide was absolutely fabulous! She was professional, courteous, down-to earth, and always willing to answer all of our questions. Even though the Jewish establishments were closed due to the Passover holiday, Adrienne still provided us with a great variety food items to sample along with history and information about the lower east side. She even went out of her way to go to the residence on Ludlow St. where my parents lived when they immigrated to the US. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and all the food samples. It was so much more than expected and we didn't need to eat lunch. We highly recommend this tour and plan visit NYC again so we can go on another Food Tour. Thank you for this wonderful experience!

Loved the whole thing! /our guide was amazing, giving us great info and stories and was so friendly throughout. Brilliant tour!

Took a group of very sophisticated 14 year old girls on the tour for my daughter's birthday. Was a lot of fun and the history lessons coincided with what they were learning about in school. Wld definitely reccomend

There were 6 of us. We enjoyed the whole day. Our tour guide was friendly and also added ALOT of other information of each area we visited. We had a great time and look forward to coming into the city and browsing that area again to revisit some tour stops and also other shops in that area. Would recommend it to other friends as well.
