Our tour guide,Nicole ,was punctual and enthusiastic. Our first stop, the Doughnut Plant was nothing but a whole-in-the-wall -- but, boy oh boy the doughnuts were out of this world delicious. We certainly got the "flavor" of the neighborhood as we tasted bialys, gelato, pickles, cupcakes, and piadas -- take the tour and you'll find out how good they are! We especially enjoyed soaking in a little of the history of the neighborhood. We spent a few minutes in the Tenement Museum gift shop and walked down the narrow streets with the fire escapes hanging onto the sides of old apartment buildings. You could almost feel the hustle and bustle of the immigrants from days gone by.
I'd highly recommend the tour to famiies. My daughter, who has learned about the Lower East Side in school, really enjoyed seeing, tasting and feeling a part of the culture.
You will leave the tour satisfied! |

The Flavors of New York Food Tour is a great family activity in New York City. My two children, ages 10 and 13, enjoyed sampling famous New York food items such as bagels, pizza and hot dogs. They also discovered egg cream soda and loved visiting a true New York deli. I lived in New York for two years and had never tried some of the foods we encountered on this tour. I also enjoyed exploring the East Village and learning about its ethnic heritage. I highly recommend this tour for visitors and even locals. |

My daughter and I were looking for a tour that would give us a taste of the variety of foods that New York has to offer from its huge cultural history. This tour was it!! There was a great balance of types of foods between the stops, and our guide, Kalisa, was GREAT!! She was very knowledgeable about the history of each area and told us all about it at each stop. I would highly recommend it!!! |

My son is a big Top Chef fan and he had a great time! We actually went back to one of the restaurants we stopped at for dinner that night. It was interesting for me, too, because our guide gave us alot of interesting information regarding the history of the different areas we went to. |

Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour and the food we sampled was fantastic! We were VERY full at the end of the tour. While learning about the history of the area, the food kept my five year old very entertained! Just loved the whole experience. |

Heard about this type of tours but never attended one. Thanks for my son who got my husband and I into this tour. I loved the cookie place, ice cream, Belgium candies, pizza place and wine place. All the different kind of food tasted was good. Our guide, Jennifer, was very informative and energetic. I would recommend to everyone whoever reads the review, please attend the food tours, it is an experience everyone should have atleast ones. Also if you are not from NY, it will give you a better idea and experience of NY. :) |

I was VERY disappointed in this food tour. In fact, it shouldn't even be advertised as a food tour. It was incredibly informative, but we took the tour to sample food. We had taken a food tour through Greenwich Village and were very pleased so we decided to branch out to other tours. If you're looking for a food tour, this will not meet your expectations.
The write up is misleading. We did not experience things that aren't offered to the public. The interactive challenge was identifying a variety of spices the host had in her bag. Shopping like a chef really meant spending five minutes walking through a kitchen store.
I know this company is up and coming, but they need A LOT of work if they want to be competitive. The "Top Chef" theme was a great idea, but poorly carried out. |

WE HAD A GREAT TIME! wE STARTED OFF WITH MY HUSBAND, MY SON (TEENAGER) AND MYSELF. My son had to leave mid way through the cheese tasting. He had a another engagement to attend. But that didn't stop what was going on, we had a great time tasting at Di Brunos. The cheese monger at Di Brunos was very generous with his time and cheese! We then went on to the TEA BAR, we tasted tea we had never tasted before. The next stop was the Candy (chocolate store) Store. We tasted lots of chocolate! |

This is our 3rd tour with City Foods, and they did not let us down. This is such a great way to explore a neighborhood in NYC for locals or tourists. We took our 10 year old niece on this one and she really enjoyed it, and she is a tough customer for sure! Don't hesitate this is a good time for all! |

We went on the tour looking for something a little different to do in the City. The tour exceeded all our expectations. We sampled cheese, "naked" chocolate and tea as Eric educated us in how the food was prepared. The tour is great for out of town guests and locals as well, who want to spend an enjoyable day in downtown Philly. |

We have traveled to New York several times. This time we were looking for something different, but fun to do. It turns out that the Artisan Food Tour fit the bill perfectly. It got us into some neighborhoods not previously visited and we got to taste some great food. Our 14 year old son enjoyed it as well. Laura was our guide and she did a wonderful job of welcoming us and making us feel comfortable. I can't wait to return to New York and try one of the other food tours. |
