When I travel, I want to eat like a local. However, I don't have the experience of the folks who actually live there, so I am not typically successful in finding the best the city has to offer. The Flavors of New York tour by City Food Tours is the best way I can imagine to learn about the foods real New Yorkers eat. The locations we visited on the tour treated us like locals and we enjoyed their welcoming atmosphere. I plan to go back to these places on my next visit and share my new finds with friends and family. I enjoyed the comfortable pace of the tour and the attention our guide paid to each of the participants. One might expect to be rushed in New York, but I never felt hurried on this tour and I was able to really enjoy the foods we sampled. New York has a rich history, much of which is related to the food New Yorkers love. The tour route through the East Village gave me a chance to learn more about some of the people and places that were involved in building the city. Another benefit... I can guarantee you will not finish this tour hungry, so consider that the tour price includes some of the tastiest foods you will experience in New York.

I just went on the Flavors of New York Tour, and I had a blast! I live in the East Village, and many of the stops on the tour were places that I usually frequent. It was neat to hear the background of some of my usual spots and to try something new from the menu. The amount of food was incredible, I was stuffed! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn more about New York's famous foods!

My wife and I had an excellent time on this trip, never done a tour like this before, but we were shown some great places to eat which we wouldn't really have gone to or we wouldn't have even found in NY. We were given a generous portion to try in each place and the tour guide was extremely knowledgeable about each of the restuarants and also other places to that we could try whilst we were in NY. We would definately recommend this tour to anyone who loves food.

I went on the Top Chef tour recently and had a great time. The guide was super friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and all of the stops we made were well chosen. The food was not too heavy at each stop but it was planned very well so that by the end of the day I was stuffed and satisfied. I recommend this tour to anyone who loves food or Top Chef.

I recently went on the Chocolate, Dessert & Wine Tour of the Upper West Side through City Food Tours. I have been a resident of Manhattan for almost 4 years, and I was delighted and surprised at all of the nice places we stopped at, none of which I had ever been to! It was fun learning about new great eating places, and I definitely will go back to many of the stops. Nicole was an amazing and very knowledgeable tour guide, and I highly recommend her and this tour for anyone with a sweet tooth!

We all had a delightful time with our very knowledgable guide. The 6 places we visited were small and would have been overlooked easily by us on our own. There were truly very special places with tastes very unique and delicious also. T he tour was what I hoped for and more and worth the price!

I loved the tour! Our guide ( Liz ) was very nice and gave very interesting presentations for the cheese, chocolate and gelatis we sampled. The merchants were also friendly and informative. I would highly recommend these tours to food lovers or as just a different, fun activity.

I really enjoyed the tour. I thought the commentary provided by the tour guide and the variety of places we visited was great. I was stuffed when we were finished (actually before we finished). The tour guide was very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this tour and would do it again--would take my teenage children with me.

My son is a big Top Chef fan and he had a great time! We actually went back to one of the restaurants we stopped at for dinner that night. It was interesting for me, too, because our guide gave us alot of interesting information regarding the history of the different areas we went to.

The tour guide was great (Jennifer I think was her name?). She was very thorough, extremely knowledgable, and fun. The tour around the upper west side was great, especially during this time of year. The desserts / bakerys on the tour were quaint and superb! I really enjoyed the treats as well as the knowledge and friendliness of the store associates. The one thing I didn't expect was the lack of wine! I think it would be so much more enjoyable if wine was introduced in several locations, in between the bakeries, and also to compliment the type of dessert we were tasting. Good time either way! K

Our guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. We really enjoyed the tour and the food we sampled was fantastic! We were VERY full at the end of the tour. While learning about the history of the area, the food kept my five year old very entertained! Just loved the whole experience.

Heard about this type of tours but never attended one. Thanks for my son who got my husband and I into this tour. I loved the cookie place, ice cream, Belgium candies, pizza place and wine place. All the different kind of food tasted was good. Our guide, Jennifer, was very informative and energetic. I would recommend to everyone whoever reads the review, please attend the food tours, it is an experience everyone should have atleast ones. Also if you are not from NY, it will give you a better idea and experience of NY. :)
