| Although our guide was very friendly and well-intentioned, this tour was a big disappointment. When I think of a food tour, I imagine: 1) visiting a lot of places, 2) discovering places I have never encountered before, and 3) eating a lot. None of these were true of this tour. We visited only three places, none of which was unusual, outstanding, or particularly unique. And, very little food was offered (unless you want to pay extra for it!). One should not go home hungry after a food tour!!! The three establishments (a candy store, a deli with some cheeses, and a coffee shop) were unremarkable. The chocolate shop had exactly what one imagines in a chocolate shop and nothing more and nothing interesting. Give me some truffles with cardamom or chocolate bark with blood orange peel. No, instead it was all vanilla buttercreams. The cheeses at the cheese shop were fine but ordinary: gouda, stilton, cheddar, and brie. And I don't drink coffee! Beyond all of this, most of the time on the tour was dedicated to 1) listening to lectures about how chocolate, cheese, and coffee are made (I can read about this on my own time) and 2) allowing us to buy stuff at the stores. What a waste! The same time at Reading terminal or DiBruno's would have been much better. As a native Philadelphian, one does not learn anything new on this tour. | ||||||

| Nicole is an excellent tour guide, very informative and a joy to be around. Although the chocolates were very good, I actually liked the other desserts better. I'm not a big wine drinker so the wine tasting was just right for me. It was very cold the day we took the tour but the we didn't suffer from the cold since most of the stops are fairly close together. This tour takes place in a part of Manhattan that we have not spent any time in before so it was neat to learn and see a different area. | ||||||

| A fun jaunt in the city for locals or visitors... More learning than tasting, but our tour guide made it easy to listen with his eloquent presentations at our three stops in the city. I'm sure it's difficult to find many great places within walking distance, but I would have enjoyed more stops and more delights to my taste buds. Try it out, learn something new, and stay in the city after your 2 and a half hour adventure is done! | ||||||

| I've heard great things about the City Food Tours. Not until we had friends in from New York did my partner and I make it on the tour. I now ask myself...why did I wait so long? Even after listing to others rave about the tours, it was still much more than I expected. Since finishing the tour, I've already been to their site planning my next tour! | ||||||

| My friend and I had such a great time on the LES tour! Our guide Jennifer gave such an all-encompassing history of the neighborhood, culture and food of the area while engaging us with colorful backgrounds of the shops and vendors we were visiting. I've lived in NY for over 5 years, yet had never discovered these great little food gems on my own! | ||||||

| I bought these tour tickets as a Christmas gift for my husband. We've lived in NYC 5 years but have barely made a dent in getting to know the Lower East Side. We had never heard of most of the stores, or had walked past them with nary a second thought. We'd also like to thank our guide Jennifer, who was prepared for anything and everything and provide much more context than we had expected. | ||||||

| We went on the tour looking for something a little different to do in the City. The tour exceeded all our expectations. We sampled cheese, "naked" chocolate and tea as Eric educated us in how the food was prepared. The tour is great for out of town guests and locals as well, who want to spend an enjoyable day in downtown Philly. | ||||||

| Usually during Christmas week most of the family are together during some part of the week. Every year we say lets do this or that over the holiday week but some years the holiday week is over and we didn't do the things we talked about. This year I decided to actually make specific plans for some of the days, including buying the tickets in advance for some events. That is how we took the tour. I had read about it in a magazine article some time ago. Wasn't sure what the name of the tour was, so I went on the internet and found the information. We (family) who did the walking tour found it not only to be a great afternoon activity, but our guide Eric was very personable and also knowledgeable with the products that we sampled (cheese, chocolate and gelato). The youngest family member was 15 so we did not do the wine tour). She enjoyed as well as did the adults, the information and the sample testing. We live locally(Phila and New Jersey with one who was here for Christmas from the west coast), so we know the city but it was nice to see the little shops that have established themselves and what they have to offer. | ||||||

| A group of friends (actually all adult family members who like each other) enjoyed the tour a lot. We learned as we tasted about the food and wine, as well as the neighbourhood. I am really going to try hard to let chocolate rest on my tongue in the future. The one thing that would have improved the experience was a place to sit in the last wine shop (but probably not possible?). | ||||||

| Above all, our guide Robert really made the food tour worthwhile. He was personable, entertaining and helpful in general. Thinking about the same tour with a more serious, monotone person wouldn't even be worth going to. On the tour, the most educational part was the cheeses, my personal favorite the chocolate, and my least favorite was the coffee stop, which was disappointing( I am a huge coffee fan). The coffee we had was mediocre, and the 3 different types we tried were all basically the same. As far as improvement, that's where I believe you need to focus. The length of the tour was good, and it was fun as a couple as well. Also the size of the group was good, it shouldn't be any bigger in my opinion. | ||||||

| This tour, with stops at excellent local food merchants around the Lower East Side, was a fantastic way to become excited about a part of the city that I don't know too much about. Our tour guide, Jennifer, was very informative and came across as genuinely enthusiastic about the food we sampled and the fascinating people behind the counter. I heartily recommend this tour not only for visitors to New York, but also those who call it home, because there's always something to discover in our great city. | ||||||

| My mother, sister and I recently visited New York for the first time. We decided to take a food tour to familiarize ourselves with the areas local establishments. We were so delighted with the outcome! The food was wonderful, but it was our guide that really made the tour. She kept us entranced with the area's history, fun facts and information about the food we were sampling. She knew many of the restaurant and shop owners by their first names and was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the city. Overall, the food was great and we just had a blast! We'll be back next year! | ||||||

| I enjoyed the tour. Would have liked to have tour more wine shops. The only chocolate place I didn't care for was Neuhaus Chocolate. It just wasn't the type of chocolate I like. We were only given one small sample and it wasn't one of the chocolates they are know for. Nichole was fantastic. Very knowledgeble and a people person. I would love to do another tour with her. | ||||||

| My mother and I took the Chocolate, Dessert and Wine tour of the UWS, and had such a great time. We really enjoyed ourselves and learned quite a bit. We are both foodies that are crazy about chocolate and desserts, and what we enjoyed most was going to places we had never heard of and would not have known about otherwise. We even went back to a couple of the places before leaving NYC just to take some extra goodies home with us. We took a couple of other food tours on our trip, and this tour and guide, Nicole, were the best. I would highly recommend it. | ||||||

| We had a nice time on this tour. Parts were great (Elani's cheesecake, and truffles from the chocolate shop), and others were just fine. I just wish the guide would have given more information/history about the food, neighborhood and the shops. If you want to sample some great food, this is a good choice. | ||||||
