- The excitement begins with a brief training session and then, for the remainder of your time with us, you'll take your skills to the trails!
- This is an ideal experience for first time Segway gliders! A path through the trees and parks is a perfect place to practice your new skills. Our guides will provide you with outstanding service and lots of fun while ensuring your safety at all times.
- If you're just visiting, an afternoon in the outdoors from atop your Segway® will leave you smiling as we cruise along the winding paths that connect the Cultural district and Trinity Park.
What Is Not Included?
A bottle of water will be provided at the start of the tour. However, during the summer months you may want to bring extra.
This is an outdoor adventure so sunscreen is recommended but not provided. Also, sunglasses and comfortable clothing is best.
We encourage you to provide our guides with a fair gratuity if you feel they've been attentive and helpful. Normally a 20% tip is very much appreciated for our guides who are usually working college students.

- Do I have to purchase tickets in advance?
- Tickets must be purchased in advance in order to guarantee your spots on the tour. Please book well in advance to ensure getting the day and time you prefer!
- How long is the tour?
- The tour will last between 90 and 120 minutes depending on group size (training a larger group takes more time!). A 10 to 20 minute training session will get everyone comfortable prior to the adventure through the Cultural District.
- How will I hear the tour guide's commentary?
- Each rider will be provided with a top of the line headset unit, making it easy to hear the information being offered by the guide and guaranteeing an optimal tour experience.
- How much time of the tour is actually spent on a Segway?
- The majority of your time will be on the Segway. We will start off with a short training session and then be on the Segway for the remainder of the time. There is one regular stop for the group to take pictures or get a drink. Your guide will photograph your group with your camera by request at this time.
- Where does the tour end?
- The tour will end at the same place we begin, so transportation back to the hotel or your car should be no problem!
- What happens if it rains?
- Tours will run rain or shine unless there are extreme weather conditions. Your tour guide is very familiar with weather patterns in the area and will make an informed decision regarding potential cancellations or early termination of a tour. In that event you would be able to reschedule subject to availability. If it is raining, remember to bring a poncho, not an umbrella, as you will need both hands to operate the Segway.
- Where is your storefront?
- Our current storefront is located in Hurst TX. We sell and service new and used Segway transporters at Texas Segway. Our address in 8712 West Airport Freeway, Hurst TX. 76053.
- Who can ride the Segway i2?
- Although riding a Segway i2 is relatively easy, insurance requirements dictate that all riders be at least 14 years of age (an adult or guardian must accompany children under 18). Also, riders should have the ability to make motions such as climbing and descending stairs without assistance. The Segway i2 is not appropriate for those weighing under 100 pounds or over 260 pounds. Lastly, pregnant women are not allowed to participate.
- Can pregnant women come?
- Unfortunately, for safety reasons, pregnant women are not allowed to participate on Segway tours.
- I have more than six people. Can I schedule a larger tour?
- Each tour can accommodate up to 6 Segway riders. Although small groups are best suited to this tour, larger tours are possible for up to 10 riders. If you would like to book a tour for more than six people, please "Contact CowtownTours".
- Do I have to sign a waiver?
- All Segway riders must sign a liability waiver before participating in the tour. Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for them.
- I am a Fort Worth local, will I enjoy this tour?
- Though you may have seen the sights before, you will still enjoy the unique experience of gliding around the district on a Segway and seeing it all from a different perspective. It's unlike anything you've ever done before!
- Can I buy food or drinks on the tour? What about gifts?
- A bottle of cold water is provided with the tour as we will not be able to suspend the tour for any purchases. A short break will be taken to enjoy your new skill or sit and take a drink. We may have tour T-shirts on hand for purchase at the end of the tour.
- Are restrooms available?
- Unfortunately restrooms are not available during the tour itself. A public restroom is available close to the training area in the Cowgirl Hall of Fame or the Science Museum.
- Do Segways have the ability to store bags or purses?
- We have the ability to transport necessary items i.e. cameras, medications, small purses, etc. Cowtown Segway is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
- Are the tours conducted in English only?
- Yes, the tours are only conducted in English at this time. However, our non-English speaking guests will still enjoy the experience of riding a Segway and seeing the cultural district from atop their own Segway PT.
- How do I learn to ride a Segway i2?
- All customers are required to take a 10-20 minute hands-on training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Riders are trained on Segway i2 operation and emergency stops. All riders are required to wear a safety helmet. If you have a bike helmet or similar that you are comfortable with, you are welcome to bring it. Otherwise one will be provided for you.
- How safe is the Segway i2?
- The utmost care and research has gone into ensuring that the Segway is safe. The Segway i2's balancing technology is truly revolutionary and provides an exceptional riding experience. The Segway has redundant systems and sophisticated alerts built into its design, and many thousands of hours of use have demonstrated that the Segway i2 is safe when used appropriately. It is important that Segway i2 riders understand their responsibility to ride safely. Proper skill level and understanding of the Segway i2 prevents injuries caused by loss of control or misuse.
- How fast do the Segways go?
- The Segways have different levels of operation. The beginner level will limit the Segway to a maximum of 6 miles per hour. The advanced level will allow up to 12.5 mph. Both settings can be customized to a specific speed as needed. All tours will be conducted with a maximum speed of 8 mph as there are numerous low speed maneuvers required on this tour.
- What is the Gen2 Segway Personal Transporter (PT) i2?
- On Monday, August 14, 2006, Segway released their second generation personal transporter (PT) with the model name i2. This machine utilizes new technology called LeanSteer which allows the rider to lean in the direction he/she would like to turn. The Segway keys have also been updated to include wireless capability. We proudly provide all of our tours on these latest updated Segway i2 machines!
- Is there parking close to the tour meeting location?
- There is plenty of parking close to the meeting location. The cultural district recently began charging $5 per car at the inner lots and $3 per car in the outer lots.
- Can I book a private tour?
- To guarantee a private tour simply book a full tour of six passes. We will accommodate other special requests if possible. For groups of more than six, please "Contact CowtownTours".
- Can I rent a Segway?
- Sure! We offer various types of rentals and will train you on the Segway before you depart. Pickup and delivery are options as well. For information on rentals click on the "Contact CowtownTours" link.
Refund/Rescheduling Policy
- Non-refundable, cannot be rescheduled.
- Once purchased, tickets cannot be refunded and cannot be rescheduled because your space is being guaranteed at the event.
Weather Policy
- Activity may be cancelled due to severe weather.
- The activity usually runs in light rain and other moderate weather conditions, but the seller may cancel the activity up to an hour before the start time in the event of severe or unsafe weather conditions. If the seller cancels the event, ticket-holders will be allowed to reschedule tickets (subject to availability) or receive credit for a future event.
