Pretty much as advertised, was a good historical overview of the resteraunts visited along with some fun bits of trivia. It is advertised as a substitute for a late lunch but I would suggest that you eat lunch before you go on the 2:00 tour. |

too bad there were a few people on this tour who seemed reluctant to move from one place to another. maybe they were too drunk when we started, or maybe their expectations were different from reality. They made me very frustrated. |

Our tour guide was excellent! Our fellow tour mates were enthusiastic, and we were in NOLA at a very busy time of year. The restaurants were great at accommodating our group and the food was delicious! I loved the turtle soup and the optional adult beverages that we were able to purchase along the way. |

Overall the tour was good, our guide was very knowledgable about the area, food and stops, but I would have liked a little more history and explanation on the tour. I would also have liked more "off the beaten path" places.
Our only real issue was the initial meeting instructions were unclear and didn't actually meet outside as described. |

I could go into a million details but this was such a great experience. We had 7 stops and tried food at 6 different locations. We learned history behind Antoine's, and other great aspects of the city's history. Food that we tried was all really delicious: gumbo, shrimp arnaud, gelatos, muffeletta, turtle soup, brisket, rice and beans, pralines, etc. |

Candy was a great guide! She was funny, entertaining and very knowledgable about the history of the French Quarter and New Orleans. Not only did we sample some of the most amazing food NOLA had to offer, we learned a lot about some of the most influential people of the city. I had a great time and would definitely reccommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn a bit of history, culture and culinary facts. |

The best part of this culinary tour for me was going beyond the store front view of New Orleans. The guide would bring us inside restaurants and stores that we would not know existed without the tour. We were given a history of the restaurants, cuisine, and food preparation. The sample foods were divine. It helped us choose restaurants for later dining and meal selection. It was well worth it!
The only thing that I would like to have seen different was to have the guide project here voice a little more. Sometimes it was difficult to hear. She was very informative!
I would recommend this to friends and family. |

Nice tour and a good intro to New Orleans foods. Fun to taste all foods and see a short cooking demonstration on making Roux. Only down side was the size of the group. 17 people (and a baby cart) is just to many to keep track of and move through busy French Quarter Streest. It was difficult to hear everything that was being said. |

The tour was a nice paced, very informative look at both history and cuisine in the French Quarter. The "behind the scenes" look at some of the restaurants was fun. The food choices were good ones to allow us to quickly "sample" many of the "traditional" dishes. It set us up so the rest of our dining experiences were informed and more meaningful. Our guide was a bit of a character. I think he had a bit of trouble with enthusiasm as Antoines suddenly didn't have room for us, so he had to punt a bit. However, if I hadn't known it was supposed to be part of the tour, I don't think it would have been noticeable. His knowledge of cooking, the history of the town and the restaurants and the ending with the woman who showed us the different types of roux - was amazing. Truly a great start!!! |

The tour offers you lots of information about culinary history in New Orleans as well as many samples of New Orleans food canon: gumbo, turtle soup, shrimp remoulade, pralines, red beans & rice, brisket, muffaletta, gelato, and more. Sample sizes were larger than anticipated. In fact, we had a dinner reservation at Stella four hours after the food tour ended and we lost one of our friends from the tour because she was too full to eat anything else! The guide was very knowledgable about the various restaurant dynasties. He also provided access into dining rooms and special collections that are not available to the general public. |

The Culinary History tour is a great way to get to know the city while learning about the food and history. We took the tour on our first day in the city. We toured resturants that we would not have even known about on our own. Throughout the rest of our stay we kept referring back to things our tour guide had told us and what we had learned. Fun, delicious and educational. Excellent guide and tour. |
