Tour guide was exceptional. Only thing I would suggest is decreasing the beginning talk as the tour did go a little long. It was still excellent - great history, great food (of appropriate caliber, significance and sample size). I highly recommend this tour for the food-loving visitor to New Orleans. |

Don't go on this tour hungry and expect to be full. The samples were very small and few and far between. The people we spoke with in each restaurant or candy shop were very nice. I loved being in the Kitchen at Antoine's. All the food we tasted was delicious. My favorite part was seeing the back rooms at Antoine's. I don't understand why Brennan's wasn't included. All-in-all I was a little disappointed. I am not sure I would repeat or recommend the tour. It would have been nice to have just a tad bit more time at each place in case we wanted to make a purchase. I would have loved to buy some Jazzmen rice or pralines at Laura's but the group had to move on. We went back to Laura's two times after the tour and it was closed, so I had to leave town without extra pralines. My main recommendation would be a couple more food stops, and maybe a happier tour guide. |

The tour guide was very informative. It was a treat to learn the history and origin of some of the landmarks. We did re-visit some of the locations after the tour. I was glad to learn new things about some of the locations I have visited in the past. |

My husband and I were in New Orleans for a week. I love to cook and he loves to eat interesting and unusual foods, so we thought this tour would be fun for both of us. It was a great tour and we recommend it highly. The guide knew a lot, the restaurants were all interesting in their own way, the owners/waiters most accommodating, and the food was delicious. I even enjoyed everything I thought I wouldn't much care for. |

The guide was really casual and laid back, but he also knew what he was talking about. I was very impressed with the tour seeing some of the kitchens in old restaurants was cool. It was the perfect amount of time and I felt like it was really well rounded. |

Candy was a great guide. She provided a lot of history about New Orleans and a native's insights. the food was great more quantity than we expected and high quality. Also. Enjoyed being able to sit in the restaurants to sample the food and tour some of the restaurants. |

A friend of mine and I took this tour while our husbands were otherwise occupied. It was fantastic. Kelly was informative and relaxed and our group was small, which was nice. It was very cool to see all the different rooms of a restaurant, which doesn't usually happen when you go to eat there. Also, she elaborated on the culinary history of N.O., and described the differences between cajun and creole. All in all, a very fun way to spend a morning! |

All of the restaurants we learned about were very interesting and our guide was knowledgeable about the local cuisine's history. The food we got to taste was delicious and some of the discounts visitors get for being on the tour were unique.
The group we had was apparently larger than normal so we couldn't always go into the restaurants we were learning about which was unfortunate as it was very hot and humid. Our guide was not very enthusiastic or entertaining but he was knowledgeable.
Overall my partner and I would recommend the tour because it is very unique, especially for beginners into culinary history, but it does not need to be a three hour tour. |

We so wished we had done this on our first day there! Now we have to go back to sample some of the places that we visited. We were in some restaurants that have been there for 100 years (and more) and each place had something of great interest to taste or see. We highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in the food and history of food in New Orleans---Chef George was a great guide with lots of tidbits of tasty information!! Definitely worth the time! |

Great guide, you get to see behind the scenes, a real experience of New Orleans history and culture. A very enjoyable walk through the French Quarter in a small group so lots of opportunity to ask questions and engage with others. |

the tour was well thought out and enjoyable. i learned a lot about the history and culture of new orleans through its food, including what creole and cajun mean. i liked the demo of making a roux that tied things together toward the end of the tour. however, if i could design my ideal tour i would have spent less time at antoine's, and have incorporated some more walking into the tour. i had been hoping to see a bit more of the french quarter. also would have skipped the beef brisket at tujagues and instead served sazerac, as a cocktail on the tour would have been nice (though we did order drinks anyway). one of my favorite stops was at the gelato shop where the owner spoke to us. that was a nice personal touch (we went back there later that night) and it would have been nice if other chefs took a few minutes to speak, however i do realize that most of the places we went to were venerable old institutions. sally was very knowledgeable and a very good guide.
overall, the tour was enjoyable and served as a reference for what is available in NOLA and how it came to be. i liked stopping for tastes at restaurants that i don't particularly want to dine at (such as antoine's), but nonetheless am curious about. |
