We very much enjoyed our Culinary History and Tasting Tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable. All the food on the tour was delicious. Although the tour is almost 3 hours, it goes very fast. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants a "taste" of New Orleans food and the French Quarter area.

We had a delightful time. The guide was enthusiastic and knowledgeable, which made the afternoon fly by. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys food. It was appropriate the tour ended with a delicious rum cake. Thanks.

One of the best tours we have taken. We have lived in New Orleans for 35 years & booked this tour with friends from Scottsdale Arizona, who have visited New Orleans many times. Sally, our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable on both the history of New Orleans & the restaurants we visited. We were a little disapointed that Brennan's did not provide a sample of anything, a taste of bananas foster would have fit well, & the brisket at Tujague's was cut with the grain & not cross grain ( a little stringy) Nothing that ruined the experience, but noticeable. Galatorie's & Arnaud's would be a nice addition to this tour also, in the same vicinity & also with a wonderful history.

To be from Louisisana, this tour gave great insight into the culinary traditions of a magnificent city. The guide was very informative and a chef himself. You learn about other things as well, not just food. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to experience the cuisine of the Big Easy. Some of the oldest and greatest restaurants in the city. Tour guide was actually funny, unlike some.

The locations were beautiful and interesting, but our tour guide brought it all to life. Without her, the magic would have been missing. Sincerely, Eric Guiel, Massachusetts

I LOVED this tour. We literally just got in to New Orleans and then went on the tour. What a great introduction to the city. You learn the history of the culture and people of New Orleans through the food. I read other reviews that there wasn't enough food for the money. Not true at all. I'm not sure what portions these people are used to but we were stuffed! Sure you don't get a full meal at each eatery, but we ate something at everyplace we went except one. It was about 10 - 11 tastings. Our tourguide was a walking history book and chef so we learned so much more than just what goes into a roux. I already recommended it to everyone else in our group that came later on that week.

Good Tour

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. George, our guide, was very laid back but engaging and knowledgeable. We particularly appreciated the opportunity to tour the different dining rooms and kitchen at Antoine's, and the staff there seemed genuinely glad to accommodate us. The muffelina and gelato at LaDivina were superb and we returned there for breakfast the next morning. We experienced an afternoon thunderstorm and deluge, but that didn't dampen our spirits. I would recommend this tour to anyone who enjoys food, history, and having a good time. The only downside was the fact that we could not eat dinner that evening....we were too stuffed from all the wonderful samples.

Highly recommend. We enjoyed the vast and frank history and made the tour that much more enjoyable. Food was great, was nice seeing the inside of kitchens - the variety of items featured on the tour was great! Would be nice to do a combination cocktail/culinary tour in the future!!!!

I am a local that attended with my houseguest from Arizona. We both enjoyed the tour immensley. Renee was a great tour guide. Since we had read what to expect on the tour, we weren't looking for food to taste at every stop. The food that we did taste was wonderful and quite filling. We didn't eat dinner later that night because we were stuffed. We heard a lot about the history of New Orleans ,and I ,as a local, even learned some things. I would definitely reccomend the tour.

Not realizing several of the restaurants on the tour would be closed for Father's Day, we were a bit disappointed with missing Antoine's gumbo. However, the food (when we finally tasted it) was awesome, as always. We were a bit disappointed with our guide...he really didn't take into account that we had 8 teenagers...who were hot and more into the actual history of the area as opposed to "how to make roux". Would I do another tour? Absolutely...although may choose a different time (NOT a holiday!). One REALLY good aspect of this particular tour was the stop (shop along Jackson Square) that included red beans and rice...the "cook" who served the dish was informative, interesting, plus included a bit of her own ethnic background as she was stirring and serving...REALLY effective for my particular "students".

I would recommend this tour at the beginning of anyone's visit to the French Quarter. Be prepared to do some walking, and if it's in the summer months, it's hot outside. We went in June, temperature was 100 degrees, but we are from Texas, so nothing new to us. The tour guide is very informative about the history in New Orleans and the local restaurants. We visited 4 restaurants and 3 local shops of culinary interest. We sampled some foods at each restaurant. This is good information to have when you are trying to pick a restaurant in N.O. I would not recommend this to anyone under 18, unless they are interested in history and the culinary arts. We had some teenagers in our group, and we could tell half of them wished they were somewhere else. Overall, I recommend this tour.
