Our Food Tour with Rene was excellent. Rene is very passionate and knowledgeable about the Food and History of Food in New Orleans. She has great contacts in restaurant business which enables her to guide you through some of the oldest food and beverage establishments in New Orleans. Can't decided which I liked more the food or the rich history I learned about it.

We highly recommend this tour. Not only do you learn about the history of New Orleans and the French Quarter but also interesting historical facts about Creole & Cajun food. Our tour guide Renee was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable and appeared to enjoy teaching the group and answering questions. The food was outstanding and in my opinion, more than just a small bite here and there. You do not need to eat lunch before you arrive if you have a late breakfast. The food is of excellent quality and creativity and you should be full by the end of the tour.

My husband, 16 year old daughter and mother-in-law recently spent the weekend in New Orleans and took this culinary tour. Our tour guide, Mary, was delightful. We learned a lot of history of the New Orleans area, the restaurants and their founders and current owners. In addition, each restaurant had a generous sample. We were very sorry we ate lunch prior to the tour, but we didn't let that stop us! We highly recommend this tour and plan to visit New Orleans again and take some of the other tours that are offered.

One of the best experiences we had in New Orleans. We knew where to eat all week after going on this tour. The history and other facts about the different restaurants was very interesting. George, our tour guide was a lot of fun.

Fun, informative and tasty! Loved the behind the scene tour of Antoine's. Renee even went out of her way to get us back there because there were people in the rooms she wanted to show us on our first visit. It was fun to hear the history behind some of the restaurants and dishes.

The best tour we took

Chef George's culinary tour was one of the highlights of our trip to NO. I was concerned brining three males with me who had no interest in cooking. It turned out they loved his drole delivery and depth of knowledge. This is an historical tour too, the food is almost incidental. We felt we got behind the beautiful facade of the French quarter and into the historical drawing rooms of another era. So glad we took this tour but made so entertaining by George because I saw some other food tours with boring hosts!

Interesting tour with lots of information about the history of the old restaurants in NOLA. It gives an understanding of the creole and cajun cooking styles with some samples.

Great Intro to the best food in the city!

Terrific tour. We attended lots of the best places in the city to try the food that New Orleans is famous for. Our tour guide was Sally. She was a very knowledgeable native New Orleanian. Only two slight complaints, we had some very talkative people on the tour who made it difficult to hear the guide. I wish she had done a better job of curtailing their disrespectful behavior. And, we were taken into Brennan's to see the courtyard but were not given a sample of Bananas Foster which they are famous for. I wonder why we bothered to go in? Great tour otherwise!!!

The food and history tour lead by Candy was one of the highlights of our trip. We were a bit skeptical from the length of the tour, but the time flew by and the food and conversation was wonderful. We brought along our little one year old boy and everyone was very accomodating to him, which we greatly appreciated. We would highly recommend this food tour to anyone visiting New Orleans! Not only do you get to try some wonderful dishes, but get a great view of the city and the history from a local prospective. A must do activity!

Great Tour and taste of Historical New Orleans!

We took the tour on a rainy day but that was alright because our guide Candy led us in and out of buildings to avoid as much of it as possible! Giving us the history of buildings as we made our way through. It was really neat to see and hear about the family run business passed down from generation to generation! We had our 12 year old daughter with us and she enjoyed it as much as we did, she even tried and ate all the Turtle soup they gave her!!! It was delicious. What a nice way to see where the locals eat and get to experience some of the best cajun food!!! From the Red Beans and Rice to the Pralines you don't want to miss this tour. You will get plenty to sample and find some places worth a second visit on your stay. Love it, Love it. Love it. Thank you Candy for a great tour!
