She incororated a good deal of history in an interesting way and there werre some nice spots to sit once in a while. She was very knowledgeable and interesting and it was a pleasant assortment of restaurants. I thought we would get more food and I canceled our dinner reservations. HA-HA.

overall, a good tour

With an interesting blend of historical and culinary informantion, I would particularly recommend this tour for those who know little about New Orleans or the Vieux Carre and its restaurants. Our tour guide (Renee) was excellent! Good variety of samplings, although I would forgo pralines in favor of something like etouffee, shrimp creole or even red beans and rice. For me, we spent too much time in Antoine's. And, although we heard the story of Brennan's famous bananas foster, as someone who lives in Nawlins, I was surprised that the omnipresent bread pudding wasn't mentioned.

Scattered information

It sometimes seemed that the information provided by the tour guide was not on topic. There was much chatting about things not related to the tour. I would have liked to know that there would be alcohol samples that were in a smoked filled bar. I probably would not reccommend it to friends.

Fascinating review of New Orleans food and culture

I was very pleased with this tour. Not being a "tour" fan, my wife convinced me to go due to my love of all things culinary and my love of history. Wow--was this fun. The guide was a wealth of information, was fun and not just a stuffy guide and the restaurants on the tour were all relevant to the history of the French Quarter. The only thing that would have been better would be for it to have been a full day and to have been actually visited by chefs as they described or presented their favorite or most famous recipe of that particular restaurant. I initially thought the price was a bit much, but have no complaints after having taken the tour. It did not hurt that the weather was perfect for a walking tour in New Orleans.

We enjoyed the tasting and the information provided on the tour. It was a mix of both a tasting tour and a history tour. Worth every penny. We would recommend it to others!

One of the highlights of my first visit to NOLA

Our tour guide, Ellen, was energetic and full of knowledge. She gave me even more of an appreciation for the rich history of NO. All that I learned from her made it much easier for me to navigate the city as the restaurant choices were overwhelming. I enjoyed the food that we tasted. It definitely gave me the opportunity to discern what recipes I preferred in a very short period of time. I enjoyed our walk and all the sights that we took in as well.

Wonderful Tour

We had a group of 10: friends and relatives who traveled to New Orleans to celebrate a special birthday, ranging in age from 40-something to 80. We came from various parts of the US. This tour had been recommended by someone who visits New Orleans regularly, and had taken the tour for the first time in December, 07. We all enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide, Ellen, made it extra special. She obviously loves what she does, and is extremely good at it. I would recommend it to anyone traveling to New Orleans.

The guide was very informative and pleasant. The tour was a good sampling of New Orleans specialties and information on local history. Enjoyed it very much - only could have used a larger "(Alchoholic) drink" at the end.

This was an excellent and very entertaining tour

This tour was and interesting mix of history and local culinary traditions depicted through a select number of New Orlean's most historic French Quarter resturants. It was very well done, with an entertaining and knowledgeable guide who handled all of our questions with aplomb. The food selections served were excellent, and the distances walked were not stressing. We would highly recommend it, not only to first-time visitors, but especially to anyone who is interested in the importance of food to the history of New Orleans.

A must do tour!

We spent a spectacular 3 hours walking and eating our way through the French Quarter. Our tour guide, Randy, was terrific. Personable and knowledgeable with lots of fun anecdotes about the city, it's culture and food. Do not eat before you go on this tour. We were stuffed. We had our 21-year-old daughter with us and she thoroughly enjoyed it as well. The group was small which was nice. You might want to call ahead to alert them if you have food allergies. A must do if you are in New Orleans. Bon appetite!

Wonderful way to experience the French Quarter
Mon, Apr 21, 08   2:00 PM ksandry Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our tour, with Randy Bibb as our guide, far exceeded our expectations. Randy's knowledge of New Orleans' history is impressive, and I feel a little bit like a local after learning a few tidbits that I hadn't heard on other tours of the French Quarter. The restaurants and foods chosen for the tour and tastings were all top notch. The highlight was our visit to the kitchen at Antoine's...how many people can say they've been behind the scenes at one of our country's greatest restaurants? I've already recommended this tour to other friends who are frequent visitors to NOLA, and look forward to my next visit to see what new restaurants and tastings are being offered on this tour.
