Renee is a wonderful tour guide. She weaves in New Orleans stories and history into the culinary tour. The tour includes several samples of traditional New Orleans food to taste, plus tours of famous restaurants and some delightful courtyards. I would recommend this tour not only for anyone visiting, but also for locals with out of town guests. |

The tour provided much historical detail about each restaurant, but very little about recipe preparation. Food samples were good and guide was pleasant. Several stop were blantant opportunities to push tourist items. |

My daughter and I just completed a short NO vacation. The Culinary Historical Tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Sally was knowledgeable and enjoyable, the history and stops, plus the food was perfect. Do not eat prior to meeting for the tour. We booked the tour for our first full day there, a good thing to do as we were able to go back to some of the places we visited. About the only suggestion I might have would be to have a short printed handout of the places we visited, along with their addresses, so returning would be easier. For a newcomer to the city after a while all names blend together. Thank you all so much for a great welcoming time. |

The guide was very informative regarding the culinary history as well as the history in general of the Louisiana Territory and the city of New Orleans. As a chef who works in New Orleans restuarants he was well qualified to lead us through several of the city's restuarants. Restaurants provided the tour group with samples of signature dishes. All were deliscious and we returned to several later on in our NOLA trip for lunch or dinner. The tour took us up and down several streets and through several courtyards as well as the restuarants. There were a few stairs to negotiate but all were interior stairs and hand rails were in place for those who needed them.. |

Our tour guide, Renee, was engaging, funny and very creative in her descriptions of historical facts about New Orleans culinary history. I would highly recommend the tour. The food samples were delicious and good quantity. It is an excellent way to see the insides of many elegant old restaurants. |

This was my first trip to NOLA. My niece had been previously for Mardi Gras. Needless to say, she actually learned about NOLA after this tour. George guided us through the restaurants, streets, alleys and kitchens in the French Quarter. He was entertaining, patient and made the day fun. He introduced us to hospitable proprietors who treated us to their specialties. We both thought the amount of food we tasted was satisfying. We both returned to the spots for days as we found our favorites. I highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting. |

I am an amateur, self taught, but not bad cook. Also a degree in history. The history was excellent, the description of the native culture, waves of immigrants, slavery etc. combined with the description of their contribution to the local cuisine was very good. Our guide was a character. He spoke on a fairly sophisticated level, so might not be to everyone's liking. But I appreciated his dry humour and acerbic wit, especially the comments about chain restaurants and mass produced food. His bias toward home style cooking, local and fresh ingedients and the pleasure of good food was obvious and welcome part of the experience. The history of the restaurants and people involved was neatly woven into the descriptions of Louisiana food, restaurant industry, and cooking methods. A memorable day. |

Sally was an excellent tour host. We learned so much about New Orleans history -- food, and in general. We would highly recommend this tour. Although, it was raining throughout the tour, we managed to enjoy many great restaurants and excellent food without getting too wet. Thanks Sally! |

Interesting tour with lots of information about the history of the old restaurants in NOLA. It gives an understanding of the creole and cajun cooking styles with some samples. |

Our group of eight very much enjoyed our food and walking tour of the French Quarter. We got to go inside rooms of restaurants that otherwise we would have been unable to see. We got the basics of creole and cajun cooking. If you enjoy trying local foods and hearing some history, this is the tour. |

This was the best tour that we did while in New Orleans. Our tour guide not only took us around to the different places to sample the food, she also told us about the history of the French Quarter. As we walked from restaurant to restaurant she told us about the different buildings, why they were important, and about the history of the meshing of the different cultures that came together. It was amazing to learn the history of the French Quarter, all while enjoying delicious food. |

My husband and I were newbies to NOLA and this tour introduced us to the history and flavors of this unique city.
Chef George was a wonderfully knowledgeable tour guide who gave us just the right amount of info without lecturing. All of the food samples were delish and we went back and had meals at two of the stops on the tour.
I would highly recommend this tour. |
