Great Tour

We enjoyed this tour very much. The restaurants we visited and the historical information our tour guide provided were excellent. The tasting enhanced the tour experience over the regular tour. We also returned on our own to two of the restaurants/stores to enjoy a meal and shopping. Great job!

The tour itself was really great. We had the pleasure to see the culinary side of New Orleans, but also the connection culinary has with history. The tour took you back in time thorough HUGE food samples and tons of timely portriats and wonderful architecture. I would reccommend that you don't eat a big lunch prior to the tour (you will regret it). Also be sure your comfortable with excessive walking and standing, because you will get tired rather quickly, so wear those COMFY SHOES.

My husband and I enjoyed the tour so much. We saw areas of famous restaurants like Brennan's and Antoine's that we would never have seen if not on this tour. We were guided through dining rooms and kitchens not normally seen by visitors. All of the foods we sampled were great! We sampled at least six or seven different items during the tour. The guide was entertaining and knowledgeable. It was more than worth the price. Take the tour!! You will love it!

I thought I knew a good deal about Louisiana foods before the tour, so was very pleased to find the tour was extremely informative. The guide was very knowledgeable and personable; the additional speakers added nicely to the overall experience, all making the tour quite enjoyable. Every stop on the tour was well-chosen. The timing of each stop and wonderful tastes was just right. Thank you so much.

We learned alot of history and ate alot of food, you may want to skip lunch before hand. Our guide, George, was funny, down to earth and a professional chef, so the tour was from a chef's point of view. We enjoyed this much more than the Crescent City Nights from Grey Line, which we were very disappointed in. Make sure you bring a bottle of water!

You will buy a 3-hour tour, and will spend 2 hours & 50 minutes listening to the guide fill the time with ridiculous and uninformative information. You'll get 10 minutes TOPS of eating time, and it will be paltry bits of food (2 oz of gumbo in a paper cup eaten on the sidewalk outside a restaurant, or a crumb of praline passed on a plate, etc et c.) Meanwhile, most of the tour overhyped as "behind the scenes" is concentrated in Antoine's 14 (yes, 14) dining rooms where the guide feels compelled to spend 5 - 10 minutes PER ROOM! Yes, I'm not exagerrating. If you're not in Antoines, you're on the street squeezed up against the wall as cars, trucks, and people move by. TRUST ME ON THIS: Take your money, find a good restaurant, and spend 3 hours eating, drinking and soaking up true New Orleans hospitality. This could have been a fabulous tour,

Randy, the tour guide was very good. Informative and entertaining. The food samples were good. Learned some history and some culinary expertise. A good tour. A long time on your feet but I felt that we were adequately advised of this in the promotional material. Thanks

The tour was very informative and really showcased the different places. The only suggestion I would have is to have more variety in the samples.

Randy did a great job and it's obvious he's into French Quarter history. Unfortunately there was 1 person in our tour who should not have been on this tour. She doesn't cook and was only interested in French architectural history. Randy could have done a slightly better job of shutting her down but didn't.. We ate lots and enjoyed the food. We went back to Antoines after the tour to try the original Oysters Rockefeller.

Highly suggest this to anyone interested in food.

Excellent tour which I feel lucky to have taken. I believe that the guide on any tour can make or break it. Our guide Randy was wonderful, knowledgeable, humourous and excellent at his job. Would take it again.

Randy was a great tour guide . Very knowledgeable about not only the culinary history but the history of New Orleans as well. Very enthusiastic. I would recommend this tour to anyone, even if they are not interested in food or cooking. Lot of good samples along the way.

We were very fortunate to have Chef George as our guide recently. George has worked in several well-known restaurants in N.O. as well as having an in depth knowledge of the local cuisine and the city history involved with it. We visited a varied sample of "eateries" in the French Quarter and were able to sample some very tasty dishes and desserts. I especially enjoyed the cooking demonstration given in an old courtyard by a local who clearly enjoys sharing stories and recipes. The tour was one of the best I've ever taken!
