| This was my and my husband's first trip to New Orleans and this culinary tour gave us a little bit of everything: history, origins, and tastings of New Orlean's dishes; background of restaurants and their relevance to the city and it's foods; and quite a bit about the history of Louisiana and New Orleans from past to present. Our guide, Randy, made the trip through the French Quarter informative, interesting, and above all, amusing. The three hours flew by and we were pleased to linger at the end to mingle with our new-found, fellow tour-guests assembled from near and far. We greatly recommend this unique tour that takes one into the large kitchen at Antoine's to the small patio at the back of Creole Delicacies Store where an on-hands demonstration for making Roux is a treat! | ||||||

| This was a great tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable and provided lots of extra information. I enjoyed seeing the inside of so many famous restaurants and hearing the history. The food samples were very good, too. I only wish I'd taken this tour on my first day in the city instead of the last. | ||||||

| This was one of the highlights of our first trip to New Orleans. The guide was very informative and knowledgable about the area and the food. Contrary to some of the reviews I read before booking the reservation, we had plenty of food and left very satisfied. The only thing I would do is plan to take along a bottle of water (but we were able to pop into a store and get some during our tour.) | ||||||

| My husband and I really enjoyed the walking tour. We learned alot about New Orleans history and how the city was established and how it evolved over the years. Learning the difference between creole and cajun food history was very helpful. We would recommend that you do the tour early in your visit. It will help you decide what you would like to do for the remainder of your visit. | ||||||

| Tour focused on culinary history of New Orleans and stopped in a few historic restaurants (Antoine's, Brennan's). The FAQ's on the website state that "the historic Sazerac cocktail is included," but if our tour is any indication, that is incorrect. We discussed it, but did not get a sample. The food samples are adequate, but were not enough for a meal in my opinion. We had seafood gumbo, pralines, mini-muffalettas, rum cake, red beans & rice, and brisket. It seemed most of the food was towards the end of the tour rather than the beginning, so I would not recommend making it a "late lunch" as I read somewhere. Our tour guide was very well informed and entertaining. I would not go just to get the food samples, but if you are interested in learning more about the culinary history of New Orleans it is very informative. | ||||||

| our guide was excellent. he wanted to answer every question and may sure we all understood what he was telling us. new orleans is a fascinating city and and this tour made it more intriguing. the food tastings were great. the tour was not just interesting and educational but we really had fun. definitely wear comfortable shoes. we highly recommend this tour | ||||||

| This tour was exactly what we were hoping for. One member of our group is researching French Quarter restaurants for a book, and she got a lot of great information that will help immensely with her project. The tour guide was a former chef, which gave him a unique perspective into the tour. He was witty and articulate and kept things moving even when we were forced to kill a little time as we waited for a few of our samples. He was also very respectful of the other people we encountered, the restaurant owners and the woman who demonstrated making a roux, in particular. She was delightful--and her demonstration gave me the courage to come home and make a roux for myself. We were disappointed not to get any food samples from Antoine's or K Paul's, but otherwise the food choices were excellent. We especially appreciated the chance to sit down when it was time for dessert. By then, we needed a little break! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to learn more about the culinary history of New Orleans. HOWEVER, bring along a bottle of water!!! The first sample was a spicy bowl of gumbo, and we had nothing with which to wash it down. We had to duck into a local quick stop to buy some and then race to catch up with the tour. Otherwise, we just can't say enough good things about it. We had a great time and wouldn't hesitate recommending it to others. | ||||||

| I'm a man of few words so my review will be brief. The tour was enjoyable, pleasant, and especially rich in flavor. My wife and I had a great time and learned a lot from the cuisine of New Orleans (NO). The tuorguide was a former chef that to some extent provided information on how the history of the place, the immigrants and the local species affected the kitchen of NO. The amount of food tasted was a bit small, however you get the idea of some of the typical food of NO. We didn't taste Jambalaya or the famous Po'Boys but we did taste almost all the rest. As a conclusion, I will tell you that if you are going to be less than 3 days take the tour in one of the first days so you know what are the regional food and the places you may want to go. If not, you will realize where and what yo eat just by walking and looking where the line of people is. | ||||||

| We went to two culinary events while in New Orleans, loved both of them, but this one was the most enjoyable. Of all the things we did while there, this is the one we'll be raving about to our friends. Randy was our tour guide and we thought he was terrific. His enthusiasm for what he does is infectious and we know we loved the tour a great deal due to his knowledge and willingness to share. We'd do it again our next visit, that is how good it is. As to whether there was enough to eat (it IS a sampling tour), at the end, we were very satisfied!! | ||||||

| Just came back from New Orleans and this is definitely in my top list of tours! Randy was the best guide...you can tell he really knows his stuff and is passionate about the food and history of new orleans. The samples were great and well spaced out...not enough to consider a meal but perfect for me. I highly recommend it to all food lovers!! | ||||||

| Interesting history and culture information as well as some great food insights. Nice to see behind the scenes at a couple of restaurants. Take the tour early in the trip ... that way it provides some ideas for your future meals. | ||||||
