This was a lot of fun! There was a lot of food, touring through the dining rooms you might not get to see otherwise was really awesome and the food was all delicious. A great way to sample a wide variety of New Orleans food. Defiantly very highly recommended.

Really a great tour. The guide, George, knew all the folks at the restaurants and shops. We really had a great time.

I booked the Historical Culinary Tour for my husband and me while traveling to New Orleans to celebrate his 50th birthday. He is very much into cooking and food so I thought it would be right up his alley....and it was! He loved it! Our tour guide was lovely and quite informative. She gave us lots of information about the history of food in New Orleans and factual tidbits along the way. We toured several famous restaurants as well as some smaller specialized shops. The food we sampled was delicious and there was plenty of it! A great way to experience all the different cuisines of New Orleans! I would highly recommend this tour.

A Great Introduction to New Orleans Food

Like all of the tours in various cities I've booked through Zerve, this one was again one of the top highlights of our vacation. Earlier in the day, we had taken a carriage ride/tour and it was horrendous. No history whatsoever. Our guide merely read restaurant/shop signs as he passed by them. Therefore, experiencing the French Quarter Culinary History and Tasting Tour was like night and day. Our guide was fantastic. She was very friendly, informative, and gave a COMPLETE history of the locations we visited and the food we sampled. (My only suggestion would be that she needs to project her voice a little bit more.) We visited some FANTASTIC restaurants and shops and everything we tried tasted divine, not to mention that we received big portions of each. The food was plentiful enough to be our lunch...and dessert! I also loved the variety of foods that were offered. We tried a little bit of New Orleans with every bite. Hands down, I would recommend this tour over any other attraction or tour in New Orleans. It's a must!

Enjoyed the overall experience. Would have liked more history along with the food. recommended by friends who have taken several culinary tours in NYC. This tour was not up to my expections of what they had experienced buy I would recommend to others and will try more of this type in other cities.

George was a great guide. He was very informative. Lots of great food. You will not need to eat dinner after. It gives you a feel for the French Quarter.

The tour guide was very informative. It was a treat to learn the history and origin of some of the landmarks. We did re-visit some of the locations after the tour. I was glad to learn new things about some of the locations I have visited in the past.

and wrote a review here previously stating that fact because we suffered some flooding and had to cancel our trip....you may read it in an earlier review. But we did end up hearing from the tour owner, and they made good on our previous reservation. We LOVED the tour. George our guide was a wealth of information about the food, restaurants and history of New Orleans. The samples that we got to taste were all excellent. The tour was paced in such a way as to not be too much or too slow. Hope that you are fortunate enough to see the demonstration that we did on Roux making. The wonderful woman that was conducting the demo (i regret I dont recall her name) put on a great show with excellent commentary. My wife and I feel that we got a great view of the French Quarter. We will probably do this again when we go back to NO.

The guide was very enthusiatic filled with great information about the area, food and how the recipes came to or was created in New Orleans. Very considerate of the heat and therefore, the need for shade and water. Very much enjoyed the tour.

We have enjoyed our culinary tour of New Orleans. Our guide knows a lot of the culinary delights of NO (although she can't answer my question, why New Orleans is called 'the Big Easy'). The three hours went by without us feeling tired or bored. The variation of the food is OK, alhough maybe a 'Jambalaya' could be added.

The tour was great with an overall history of the city and local fare. We got to sample several Cajun and Creole types of cuisine. Our guide was great and we walked the French Quarter at a good pace. Never strenuous. Overall, I would highly recommend the tour if time permits. It takes about 3 hours.
