What a wonderful way to rediscover New Orleans. A walking culinary tour was just made to order. It gave us chance to eat the special food that is New Orleans at it's best. Gumbo, muffellats, pralines, jumbilya and pastries, along with a drink and more history of the area then I ever knew. Thanks for always providing outstanding tour guides!

We did enjoy the culinary tour of the French Quarter. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made it fun. The food samples were good but the history was better. We especially enjoyed the tour on Antoines Restaurant even though we did not get any samples there.

We visited a number of restaurants and shops and had samples of the following at different stops: Gumbo Chocolate croissant Muffeletta Brisket Praline Sazerac Red beans and rice The guide/owner of the tour is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the historry of New Orleans as well as the restaurants we visited, including Antoine's, Brennan's, The Napoleon House, etc. The tour was 3 hours and very well paced. My wife and I both highly recommend this tour.

OK tour led by a non-foodie

Tour was good, and gave a decent historical overview of the NO, LA culinary scene. Was led by someone who was more a tour guide than a foodie, so she gave more of a flavor of history than the type of history a chef would give.

Wonderful, informative, and enjoyable. Guide was very good and knowledgeable. The samples of food were more than enough to satisfy. Everyone was gracious and patient.

The tour guide, Joe, was knowledgeable, charming, and friendly. The food sampling was less than stunning. Two ounces of gumbo, a pastry at a Starbucks-like coffee shop, a mini-muffaleta, and a chunk of boiled beef hardly constitute a "culinary tour." The muffaleta was the best part. And, one restaurant that was supposed to provide a sample was closed. Fortunately, it was only to serve jambalaya. Sure, we stood in front of a couple of gourmet restaurants while Joe told us how good the food would be if we were to have a sample, but sampling from them wasn't on the menu. Don't get me wrong. I had a good time, but mostly because of Joe's repartee, and the walk-around gave us another view of the Quarter. But, culinary-wise, pretty mediocre.

Excellent Saturday Tour

I thoroughly enjoyed the Culinary History Tour of the restaurants in the French Quarter. I loved the inside tour of Antoine's as well as Tujagues and the Napoleon House. My tour guide was extremely well versed on the history of the city and environs and how that correlated to the unique flavors of New Orleans. He was funny and personable and set the right tone. The samplings of food were enough to satisfy, and they were delicious, true New Orleans flavors of Gumbo, Jambalaya, Pralines, Muffalettas, etc.. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone. Thanks!

I really enjoyed this tour- we went over March break and the weather was beautiful. The tour guide was knowledgeable and funny, and he included information about the history of New Orleans along with the development of its unique cuisine. We tried a lot of food, and I was stuffed and happy for many hours after the tour. My favorite stop was Antoine's restaurant, which the tour guide had a lot to say about.

Our guide was a history student and New Orleans native, and was very knowledgeable about not only the culinary history of the city, but its history in general. The tour was well-paced and covered a lot of sites, although not a lot of ground as everything is close in the French Quarter. And we sampled some really good food! Appealed to my husband and I who are big "foodies", but also had a lot to offer folks not that into the food scene. We would highly recomend it!

It was a nice afternoon stroll thru the French Quarter filled with food and History. I went back to 3 of the restaurants for excellent meals that we covered on the walk.

I WAS NOT FROM THE AREA, NOT USED TO THE LOCAL FOODS AND THIS TOUR AFFORDED ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO "TASTE A BIT OF NEW ORLEANS". THE FOODS WERE GREAT, THE STAFF AT THE VARIOUS ESTABLISHMENTS WERE EAGER TO PLEASE US AND SHOW US WHAT THEIR SPECIALITIES WERE. WE WENT BACK TO TWO OF THE ESTABLISHMENTS BECAUSE OF WHAT WE TASTED AND VIEWED ON THIS TOUR.

We had a great tour guide named Joe Toltz (I think that was his last name). He was very knowledgable about Louisiana history and gave us good insight to the New Orleans area. We sampled some fabulous food and the people involved in the tour were very nice and friendly. I specifically enjoyed the tour of Antoine's Restaurant. We got to see most of the rooms and Joe gave us the history of the Mardi Gras Krewe rooms and the restaurant's speakeasy that was installed during prohibition. I would definitely (and already have) recommend this tour to anyone visiting New Orleans.

I'm an American, and my girlfriend is Japanese. This was a great way to experience the Quarter. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. I wish we could have eaten something at Antone's, but even getting to view the different dining rooms was an unforgettable experience. If we hadn't been so full by the end of the tour, we would have gone to Antone's for dinner! I highly recommend this tour. Visit New Orleans!
