This tour was an excellent introduction to the food and history of the French Quarter. It included a great variety of delicious foods from gumbo to brisket. Our guide, Candy, entertained us with stories of the rich cultural history as we toured elaborate dining rooms, a kitchen, small eateries and a bar where the Grasshopper drink was invented. |

I had previously submitted a negative review because of a scheduled mistake. After my negative review the company contacted me and rescheduled the tour. The tour itself was very nice and I would highly recommend it. The guide Ms. Gonzalez was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and gave enough information without boring you to death. There is quite a bit of walking and unfortunately for us it was raining when we went. So bring comfortable clothes. Overall a very nice tour. |

Judy, our tour director seemed very rushed during the tour. Her anxiety in wanting to move to the next place caused anxiety within the group. We all felt like we needed to gulp our food quickly so as to not get left behind. She actually did leave a few people behind at one point. Someone in my group graciously went back to retrieve them. Judy was also very cold and unwelcoming. She gave harsh looks at anyone who made a noise, took a picture, or didn't respond in a way which was to her liking. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the food, but her tense personality made it rather stressful. |

We enjoyed learning about the restaurants that we went to and the food was good at all of them. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and offered a lot of interesting information. Due to no fault of her own, the tour was delayed at the first stop because of a very busy restaurant and kitchen (due to a football game). It seemed like we were rushed everywhere else to make up time.
She was also very hard to follow in that she spoke very fast and often lost her train of thought and forgot the story she was telling. She also lost part of the group early on the tour. She then scolded them saying that she advised everyone to keep close as we went along Bourbon St. After that she paid closer attention to making sure everyone was counted. Her demeanor changed after that though and she seemed disgruntled, to the point of talking about members of the group to other members and mumbling under her breath. We have been on many types of tours, in many parts of the world and have had a wide variety of tour guides, none of which has ever lost group members. If you are moving quickly through a crowded area it is very easy to get separated by relying on following the person ahead of you as tourists often stop and gawk at things. I've seen most guides hold something above their head (a sign or a closed colorful umbrella) for people at the back to follow. |
