My husband and I really enjoyed this tour and highly recommend it. We got to sample the local food, learn about different restaurants and there history. We were surprisingly full afterwards with all that was served. Great time! |

The best part of this culinary tour for me was going beyond the store front view of New Orleans. The guide would bring us inside restaurants and stores that we would not know existed without the tour. We were given a history of the restaurants, cuisine, and food preparation. The sample foods were divine. It helped us choose restaurants for later dining and meal selection. It was well worth it!
The only thing that I would like to have seen different was to have the guide project here voice a little more. Sometimes it was difficult to hear. She was very informative!
I would recommend this to friends and family. |

We had a great tour with Candy over the Christmas Week. She started by explaining the history of Creole and Cajun cuisine and explained the differences. We enjoyed the different stops and foods we got to try and also learning about the city itself. I even discovered a new drink, the official drink of New Orleans, the Sazerac! There's a lot of history and culture in NO and a lot of it is embedded in the food and restaurants.
The one unexpected thing that can be good or bad, is that the tour said 3-3.5 hours, our tour lasted almost 4 hours. So may be something to keep in mind if you're making dinner reservations afterwards.
Would definitely recommend this to those who want to experience New Orleans in a different way. |

A great guide, but a long infomercial

Mary was a terrific guide: Informed, funny, and organized. But it felt too much like an informercial for the restaurants, and considering we'd already paid a fair bit for the tour, something a bit less promotional would be expected. It felt a bit like an hour or two with the timeshare folks in Florida. Wouldn't do this kind of tour again. |

This tour was a lot of fun! The food is very good, but learning the history of the restaurants and food was great. If you aren't from New Orleans and/or haven't visited before, this tour will give you a good idea of great places to eat. The guide threw in more than just culinary history, very interesting! |

This tour was well worth the fee. Visited at least 8 different culinary sites, and tasted food at 4 of them. Only reason not to rate 5 stars is that samples were not available at the 'famous' restaurants. Interesting to see the kitchen, though.
Samples were perfect size; felt we'd had a good mid-afternoon snack.
Guide was very well-informed, humourous, and quite patient with any and all questions. |

I would recommend this tour to anyone coming to visit New Orleans. It is a great way to start out your visit. It gave us an overview of the history of New Orleans and how that impacted the foods and the way foods are prepared. It was fun to tour the dining rooms and kitchens of some of the restaurants we visited. There is a whole world behind the gates that you never realize when you are walking by on the street! It gave us a sample of a variety of foods (which all happened to be delicious) so later on during our visit we could go back to the restaurant and order what we liked best. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and clearly enjoyed her job.
The tour involved a little walking and the amount of food, over three hours was a nice amount so we weren't full or hungry. |

The whole idea of a walking culinary tour was a good idea -
in as much as the whole city of New Orleans centers around
food and music, right?
Though not as animated as one would expect a "tour guide" to
be, Sally was enjoyable, delightful and knowledgeable.
The tastings were delicious and more generous then I expected!
THANK YOU for a wonderful afternoon! |

The tour was much more than I expected both in terms of variety and the number of stops we made. Although I have been to New Orleans many times, even living there for 7 years in the 70"s, this was a new and different experience. I especially enjoyed Antoine's tour and tasting. |

It was a nice afternoon stroll thru the French Quarter filled with food and History. I went back to 3 of the restaurants for excellent meals that we covered on the walk. |
