Tour was great except for the EXTREMELY RUDE employee at Antoine's, who not only refused to wait until George finished speaking to sweep the floor, but made as much noise as possible doing it. He cost Antoine's business for sure and should be fired! Highly recommend the tour itself! |

Highly recommend this tour in your first few days stay. We returned to many of the restaurants we visited for some amazing food and service. The tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and had a great repoir with the places visited. Well worth the money. |

Our tour included Antoine's--with its elaborate dining areas and amazing kitchen; Leah's Pralines; Arnaud's Remoulade; Desire Oyster Bar; La Divina; Tujagues; and Creole Delicacies. We learned a lot about the history of the individual restaurants and the origin of New Orleans. Our guide was a bit of a cynic, and clearly has disdain for restaurateurs who are considered to be celebrities. But overall, we had a great time! |

We have been on culinary tours in other parts of the country and would stand this tour up against any of the other tours that we have taken. The tour guide was very well informed about the historical components of the Quarter and conveyed her knowledge in a very informative but casual manner. The tour started out slow for us and we had thought we had made a mistake but as it progressed it became apparent that we had made the right choice. The sampling was much larger and extensive that we had thought we would experience and the food was absolutely fabuluous. If you have an afternoon to enjoy something like this than you should do it. |

I can't imagine anyone doing a better job than Renee in explaining not only a lot about the history of New Orleans, but how that history influenced the foods we sampled on the tour. Her material was delivered in such an entertaining way that we couldn't help but be captivated--she never lost our interest. And we had so many great "tastes" along the way that we couldn't eat dinner for several hours afterwards! I would heartily recommend this tour to anyone--and have already mentioned it to friends since we returned home earlier this week. I'm not just speaking for myself either--my husband loved the tour too. |

1.) At three hours...it's 45 minutes too long. They should eliminate two of the stops; shortening the afternoon would make it more enjoyable.
2.) We went during Mardi Gras and could not get into two of our locations. Our tour guide explained it by saying, "That's Mardi Gras." Unacceptable -- we paid full price, we expected full access.
3.) Randy (our tour guide), went overboard in chasing away passers-by who stood on the fringe of our group and eavesdropped. His sarcastic comments detracted from the fun of the event.
Generally an interesting event, but could use the above-referenced changes. |

Our tour guide Candy was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was very small portions and we didn't eat before our 2pm tour, but after 3 stops we were filling up! By the end we were quite satisfied and got to try foods that we wouldn't normally order off a menu. Not recommended for vegetarians.
Great way to see the city with lots of historical facts! |

The Culinary Food History tour of New Orleans was very informative and interesting. Not only did we learn about the main foods related to the city, but we also learned about some famous restaurants, people, and events. The tastings were exquisite and the various restaurant workers were always happy to see us. The tour guide was very learned and pleasant. This tour truly enriched our experience during our visit. |

The tour started with a man asking us if we were part of the group. He didn't have a name tag and told us to call him Chef. He was a little gruff, but gave us good information and we were enjoying the tour.....then at the end he said he had some "lanyap" for us. He started toward a cookbook store and said, "When we go in here, don't be surprised if the woman behind the counter spreads her legs and starts to moan, she knows me." At this point, Don and I left the tour. |
