This tour took us to places within well known restaurants we would not have seen on our own while also giving us the historical background about the restaurant and food we tasted. Our guide, Rene, was very knowledgeable as well as entertaining. We are a group of 4 friends who like to eat good food so this tour as right up our alley! We all felt we got much more for our money then we expected. We hardily recommend this tour. |

Candy was a great guide. She provided a lot of history about New Orleans and a native's insights. the food was great more quantity than we expected and high quality. Also. Enjoyed being able to sit in the restaurants to sample the food and tour some of the restaurants. |

We had a great time on this tour! We learned a lot as the emphasis seemed truly to be on the history & culture of New Orleans, and our guide Annette was very knowledgeable. The food was delicious, and this was a great way to try many of the dishes unique to this city/region. The tour also made accessible some of the finer historical restaurants that we as young travelers don't necessarily have the budget for. The only improvement we might suggest would be to have more food or perhaps larger portions. A great tour, and a unique way to learn about this great city & its history! |

My husband and I had never been to New Orleans before. Our first full day, we took the culinary tour. Candy, our guide, was phenomenal. She knew so much about the city, the people, and the history. Oh, and she was very knowledgable about the food and the restaurants. Our group only had eight people, so it was a pleasant experience, and we got to know the others. We felt very welcome, and after it was over, we knew our way around the French Quarter. We even went back to one of the restaurants, Arnaud's, for dinner. I highly recommend this tour, even for non-foodies. You will learn so much. |

Stories behind the scenes at NOLA restaurants/food

A peek behind the scenes of the food culture, famous restaurants and restaurant families, emphasizing the characters, societies/clubs, and establishments, not to mention the quirks. Well-told stories and quick wit by our tour guide insider Mary, a retired 8th grade teacher. Always another room to show us in the restaurants, a different angle on the founding families of the restaurants, and a nice nod to the cultural diversity and vibrancy that makes the food tasty and unique. More of a restaurant tour than a kitchen tour....the food tasting was great. Seemed just right amount and the right timing for the variety of flavors. Really a great way to gain some perspective and understanding of NOLA as first time visitors. Light hearted and fun! |

We really enjoyed the culinary tour. Our guide, Candy, was very informative. It was a fun way to try several different types of local foods. It was also fun to tour the restaurants (we were able to see areas that you probably would not get to see if you just went there to eat). Oh, and the food was great. Nicely done!! I would definitely recommend the tour to others. |
