Guide was enthusiastic, fun, knowledgeable, and really into the history and food preparation. In a short stay of three days, with the tour on day 1, we returned to one of the stores and two of the restaurants from the tour. The walking was short enough for a couple in their 70s, and the opportunities to sit and chat were plentiful. Our group had only 4 persons, so it was really intimate. This was our second trip to N.O. and the French Quarter in recent years, and the mix of history and culinary details made this tour the best part of an altogether wonderful trip.

Aa great afternoon learning the history of New Orleans and the cultural influences on the food. Well paced and interesting. We've been to New Orleans before but this brought a new perspective to our visit.

Our guide, a former chef, provided wonderful insight into the NOLA restaurant scene and history and we leisurely moved from one grand dame location to another sampling creole and cajun dishes. We also had some "behind the scenes" tour of private dining rooms and kitchens. Altogether, a great time.

We were surprised to see the beautiful rooms of the old restaurants, you will never see this on your own. Nice tastings too! Only thing missing is a taste of jambalaya, we would expect that on such tour.

My daughter and I just completed a short NO vacation. The Culinary Historical Tour was one of the highlights of our trip. Sally was knowledgeable and enjoyable, the history and stops, plus the food was perfect. Do not eat prior to meeting for the tour. We booked the tour for our first full day there, a good thing to do as we were able to go back to some of the places we visited. About the only suggestion I might have would be to have a short printed handout of the places we visited, along with their addresses, so returning would be easier. For a newcomer to the city after a while all names blend together. Thank you all so much for a great welcoming time.

We took 2 food tours while in NOLA and this was by far the best of the two. The tour took us through the classic restaurants and we saw kitchens, private dining rooms, and areas you could never get to without a tour. The food was substantial. Since it was an afternoon tour, it really was our dinner. Tour involves a great deal of walking throughout the French Quarter and involves up and down stairs. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable. However with younger children on the tour some of his personal remarks were not appropriate for families. Would certainly recommend this tour for anyone wanting a good explanation of NOLA history as it involves the foods of the many cultures.
