George our guide was exceptionally knowledgable and he made the tour. I have been on many food tours and most are good, but this one was one of the better ones.

History of New Orleans explained through food.

I am an amateur, self taught, but not bad cook. Also a degree in history. The history was excellent, the description of the native culture, waves of immigrants, slavery etc. combined with the description of their contribution to the local cuisine was very good. Our guide was a character. He spoke on a fairly sophisticated level, so might not be to everyone's liking. But I appreciated his dry humour and acerbic wit, especially the comments about chain restaurants and mass produced food. His bias toward home style cooking, local and fresh ingedients and the pleasure of good food was obvious and welcome part of the experience. The history of the restaurants and people involved was neatly woven into the descriptions of Louisiana food, restaurant industry, and cooking methods. A memorable day.

We took a 3 hour walking tour & visited about 7 of the oldest restaurants.in the French Quarter. The food was small, very tasty portions.. a few of which I've never had before (turtle soup, Louisiana dip, & avocado gelato). The background of the city, different foods, & cooking techniques were interesting & very informative, but my favorite part was the history of the restaurants. You get a behind-the-scenes tour & a pretty detailed history. I recommend this tour.. lots of fun, & samplings of some really good food!

What a great idea a culinary tour of New Orleans is!!! Genius!!! A combination of local history, touring the neighborhood, and the inside scoop on the best places to dine! Sally was our tour guide, and was very informative and charming, a true "southern lady." Got to sample things I probably would have hesitated to order such as alligator and turtle, and my shell fish allergy was cheerfully accommodated. I will begin my NOLA visit with this tour every time!

I learned lots about NO food, culture and history. Sally was very pleasant, knowledgeable & obliging. Food was small tastes so I was still able to fully enjoy a lovely NO dinner later. Overall a very pleasant way to spend an afternoon

Even though I have been to NOLA 4 other times, I still found this tour informative and well worth spending an afternnoon doing. We tasted specialty foods and also toured resturant kitchens and out of the way places most visitor's will not see. do it!

I highly recommend this tour. Candy was the best guide. I learned so much history and the food was amazing. I have already recommended this to at least 10 people. I know at least 6 are going to book with her. I am going to book again with her, but this time on the bar tour. Thank You Candy, for making my 39th Birthday one of the best ever.
