This tour was very informative about the culinary traditions of New Orleans and the surrounding areas. The food was terrific! There was also information about the history of the buildings and restaurant business, as well as Mardi Gras. |

I really enjoyed the tour. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that my tour guide was hard to understand sometimes. |

Candy was a terrific tour guide. She was warm, friendly, and an excellent storyteller. She clearly loves this city, and her enthusiasm and knowledge were infectious. I wish the tastings included po boys and beignets since they're such quintessential New Orleans foods, as I would've liked to learn the history on those as well. That said, loved the tour and highly recommend. I've done other tours in New Orleans since, and none were as good as this one. |

This tour was so interesting and helped set the tone for our first visit to New Orleans. We took the tour just after arriving and, not only was the food wonderful, but the wealth of knowledge provided by Chef George helped us make positive changes to our visit. The architecture on both the inside and outside of the buildings was amazing. He talked about the history of the area, the influences on the food, and answered any questions that arose. His candidness was refreshing!
We ended up visiting most of the venues on the tour a second time (if not more!) and look forward to going back some time in the future. We also visited some suggested venues that were not on the tour and were pleasantly surprised!
I came home with three cookbooks, sauces, spices, and gadgets and can't wait to go back again! Even my brother bought creole mustard and he doesn't cook that often. I think that this tour made what would have been a good vacation an awesome vacation! Thanks! |

The tour gives you some history of the French Quarter and some of the restaurants' histories and owners. Getting to sample small amounts of local, traditional fare was perfect for us--we didn't have to order full size meals and we got to taste things. We even got a small cooking lesson at the end! I am a bona fide "foodie" and loved hearing recomendations for places to eat and how to prepare some basics. A great way to spend the afternoon! |

With Renee Dodge as our tour guide, we spent three plus hours learning about and sampling NOLA Cuisine. Our group of only 18 visitors were led from gumbo to red beans and rice to prahlines. My personal favorite part of the tour was the Roux lesson fron Sondra who teaches at the New Orleans Culinary Class. Renee was full of facts and gave some take-it-or-leave-it information too! She was fun, enthusiastic and spoke in a volume that we all could here no matter where we were. Lots of places to sit while sampling. Excellent! |

I really enjoyed getting local stories along with the food details. It was interesting enough to take friends back to most of the spots. Our group was no more than 7 and that was a perfect number. Sometimes it was difficult to hear the guide when the restaurant employees were busy. The segment at the end where we had a cooking demo was great too. So much information presented in an entertaining way.
Our guide Sally was excellent and knowledgible and made the tour entertaining. I really loved it. |
