What a great way to learn about New Orleans!

Candy was our guide. She was full of wit, wisdom, and enthusiasm. We were able to go behind the lines in several restaurants and see the inner workings, decorations, and pride. Tasted food would probably have never ordered but will now. Our group was interactive and friendly - due to Candy. Suggest that you do tour in the beginning of your adventure in New Orleans - will give you ideas as to where to eat and what!! Thanks Candy

Not what I expected.

Other family members wanted to take this tour. I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. I think that it exceeded everyone's expectations. Not only was the food samples very good, the history and lore of the the French Quarter restaurants gave me a different perspective of New Orleans. New Orleans is a great city.

Worth Every Penny

Was a bit worried that it would be worth the cost, but no need for worrying. It was an awesome experience, and I would do it all again! You get a nice portion for tasting at each stop and by the end of it I felt like I ate like a king! Brought along a friend who was visiting from Ireland who isn't a huge seafood fan, but she loved it too! Thanks for the good food and good times!

We were filled up with delicious food and New Orleans "insider" information on our tour! Food and all the tidbits of information about the city were fabulous! I would recommend this trip to anyone! If you want to see the city and experience it's history through it's food, this is the tour for you!

Our tour guide Renee was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable about the French Quarter and the history of the food. She interspersed information in a very entertaining way as we saw the highlights of the neighborhood! All in our group thoroughly enjoyed themselves!

A Great Slice of New Orleans' Culinary History

The French Quarter Culinary History Tour is a case of truth in advertising, and that's a good thing. Over the course of 3 hours you are taken in and out of about 10 restaurants and given the anecdotal history of each and its contribution to the local scene. Along the way you are treated to a half dozen small samples of the specialties of the establishments. Some of the visits were a bit perfunctory (e.g., Leah's Pralines stop was just long enough to get a nice praline sample), while others were longer and more detailed. The "backstage" visit to Antoine's was the highlight of the tour, visiting several of the private dining rooms, hearing their history / lore, and a brief visit to the kitchen. Our guide was knowledgable, personable, and had a good sense of humor. Both my wife and I really enjoyed this tour.

Our tour guide, Chef George, was excellent. He knows the history of the French Quarter and he is able to explain the culinary aspects of the tour very clearly. He has excellent contacts. We went back to several of the places we visited on the tour to eat or make additional purchases.

This was a great tour with a lot of interesting information, not only about the food, but about New Orleans in general. Our guide Renee was a fantastic storyteller! The tastings along the way were the icing on the cake!

Renee our Tour Guide was wonderful! She made everyone feel comfortable and had everyone introduce themselves she made us feel like a tight knit group. The tour was very informative with the history of the families that owned/ran the restaurants we visited. The food was good but not the star. I had a very good time and would book other tour if/when I came back to New Orleans.
