| My friend and I enjoyed the history of various local dishes as well as brief tours of select restaurants. The tour guide was knowledgeable and provided insights concerning local eating establishments and their signature dishes.
The one negative was the difficulty of sampling dishes while standing on the sidewalk near a couple of the restaurants. We assumed that sampling would be done indoors, but do realize that space was limited due to the size of the restaurant as well as the size of the group. That being said, I would still recommend the tour to anyone interested in the history of Southern cuisine and sampling local dishes.

| Three hours wasn't enough...Loved it!!!
The tour guide showed a passion for New Orleans, food, and the history that connects both of them.
I'd do it again.

| Kelly gave the tour and provided background for the restaurants. We had a chance to taste the food and drinks from some famous French Quarter restaurant kitchens. The history was a good description. We took a good look at Petunia's, Napoleon House, Tujacque's, New Orleans Cooking School, and especially Antoine's. There were other restaurants and the Herman-Grimm house courtyard. Some restaurants were described from outside without an inside tour like K-Paul's Louisiana kitchen. The tour sparked a lot of interest for us in appreciation of some of the restaurants where we had already dined and others that we would now like to try. The history of the cuisine was very interesting. The samples were all enjoyable and in fact we had skipped lunch but did not miss it.
Areas where there might have been improvement were that we had come on time (15 minutes prior to tour) from a lengthy cab ride and we didn't get a chance to use a restroom before we started the walking tour. Our group was small at seven but the guide said the tour often has larger groups up to 16 or so. Sometimes street noise made hearing difficult and this would be a problem in the larger groups.
Note the tour is definitely a walking tour. We were on our feet most of the time and often tasted the food while standing. The other people in the tour group seemed as pleased as we were. Anyone who is up to the walking would probably enjoy the tour. Planning the tour for one's first day in the quarter would help with planning your dining while there. |

| A lot of interesting information, and a friendly, fun tour guide. Not a lot of tasting until late in the tour, so don't start the tour hungry. I enjoyed, but wished to see more of the older restaurant's kitchens. Although I loved the tastings at Leah's Praline Shop, this is not really what I was interested in for this tour. I didn't care for the stop at the pastry shop, again, not what I was expecting. The Tajuague's visit was very in-line with what I was expecting (brisket and a sazerac). I also enjoyed the Napolean House stop and the mini muffeletta-yum. A stop at Cafe DuMonde would be nice to add. |

| Book this in the beginning of your trip to New Orleans so you can visit all the wonderful places during your trip! Our guide Kelly was a blast! We were there during a holiday so some unexpected closures occurred but Kelly made up for it. The history is awesome and Kelly knows her stuff! We made great friends on the tour too! Coming back to visit New Orleans soon all because of Kelly and her fabulous way of showing the best of New Orleans cuisine! |

| We are two girls that love food. We visited NOLA for a vacation on Memorial Day 2007. This was one of the first tours we took and I recommend you take it in the beginning of your trip. We got a general overview of the French Quarter and were able to pick out some wonderful restaurants for the rest of our trip from the tour!
Michael, our tour guide, went above and beyond. In fact the day after, my friend and I stopped by the Culinary School separately to talk with him. He gave me some great recommendations of food to bring back home!
He was also very knowledgeable of general history of NOLA as well as culinary history. I've read some comments about the quantity and quality of food. It's a 3.5 hour walking culinary tour! For $40 you get 3.5 hours of entertainment and learning as well as 5 tastings! What do you expect? 5 full courses?? We had eaten a light lunch at noon and by 2, we were famished and we were full after the tour. We tasted, pralines, muffaletta sandwich, roast beef, chocolate croissant, one alcoholic drink, and gumbo.
Michael was a pleasure and I recommend this tour for all foodies and those who enjoy history. |

| The walking food tour went above and beyond our expectations. Our tour guide was most informative about the city and the restaurants. The food was fabulous. I would reccommend taking the tour at the beginning of your trip so you can plan your meals around the sites you visit. |
