Loved this tour!

We visited different restaurants, some old and well-established, some fairly new, and had something different in each place. Gumbo in Antoine's, shrimp remoulade in Arnaud's (went back later for more!), brisket in Tujague's, muffaletta and gelato in La Divina, etc. We were even treated to red beans and rice behind a store that sold all kinds of things to cook with. It was a wonderful experience, and we left satisfied and full. Best of all, our tour guide was knowledgeable and fun to listen to as we walked us around the French Quarter. I'd recommend this tour ot anyone who enjoys New Orleans cooking.

Our tour included a total of 3 couples. This is an ideal number for this tour. It was a fun and informative tour of some of the most famous restaurants in the French Country. We really liked the pace of this tour. We went to all of the places that we were scheduled for but at a nice leisurely pace. We had an opportunity to sit, taste the food and discuss it. Our tour guide, Renee, was excellent. Very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time.

Lots of variety and good historical infomation. The guide did not have our info about my husband and I being vegetarians but quickly contacted the restaurants and at only one spot we did not have a sample.

I really enjoyed the tour. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is that my tour guide was hard to understand sometimes.

Our tour guide Candy was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The food was very small portions and we didn't eat before our 2pm tour, but after 3 stops we were filling up! By the end we were quite satisfied and got to try foods that we wouldn't normally order off a menu. Not recommended for vegetarians. Great way to see the city with lots of historical facts!

Candace Kagan was our guide and I found her to be very knowledgable who gave out facts in a pleasant and non-robotic way. The tour itself gave a nice sampling of New Orleans food . The portions were large enough to really taste. Candy kept the tour moving along yet we did not feel rushed from one place to the next. I would recommend the tour to anyone who wanted to learn and taste the local food without having to order a full course of each item. It also gives some local history and an introduction to various popular restaurants. Roberta Sullivan, Honolulu, Hawaii

Fantastic Experience, Fabulous Food

This tour was the best tour I've ever taken in New Orleans, and I've been vacationing in the city for more than a decade. Our tour guide, Sally, was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable about not just the culinary side of New Orleans, but the city's history in general. It was really a treat to get to see inside Arnaud's and Antoine's. I'm not generally a very adventurous eater, and at meals I usually stick to things I know I will like. But since I was on the tasting tour I determined to try everything with an open mind, and I loved it all! I would probably never have picked turtle soup or shrimp remoulade from a menu that also included gumbo and fried shrimp, but now that I've tried them, I will be excited to order them in the future. I saw that the reviews are mixed as to whether this tour offers enough food to forego a meal. I would advise you not to eat lunch before this tour - have a large or late breakfast if you don't usually wait until 2 for lunch. The offerings are substantial and often enough to keep you from being hungry throughout the tour. Myself, I was ready for supper an hour or two after the tour wrapped up. My companions, who are older and have lighter appetites than me, wound up sharing a plate at supper, but they often do that, anyway. Here is what we ate, and where: Small Cup of Seafood Gumbo at Antoine's Praline Sample at Leah's Pralines (also were given a wrapped praline to take home) Shrimp Remoulade (3 medium sized) at Arnaud's Small Cup of Turtle Soup at Desire, An Oyster Bar 1-2 inch Wedge of Muffaletta at La Divina Sample of Gelato at La Divina Cafe Small Cup of Red Beans and Rice at Cookin' Cajun ~4 oz. Boiled Beef Brisket at Tujacque's

Highly recommend for anyone who wants to taste several of the most popular local dishes! The history given on each restaurant and the city was well worth the money!
