OK - but a little long

This was wonderful in idea, but not exactingly what I was expecting. The class of restaurants chosen was a little disappointing. Tour guide was great. Very informative. It ended with a demonstration on making roue. It was a little long, but entertaining. For such a long demonstration, we needed seating. Especially as it was the final location after being on our feet for 3 hours. |

This food tour was incredible. My brother went to Tulane for four years so he knew of a lot of the restaurants but said he never ate at any of them because they were way out of his price range. I was so impressed with the places that they took us to and the stories that accompanied the food. I loved that I was able to try food from all of these famous restaurants in New Orleans. The best was definitely the turtle soup! |

This was our first opportunity to participate in a culinary tour in New Orleans and we loved it! The food was fantastic, the historical accounts were informative and the tour guide was entertaining. We loved the stops enough to return to several of them during our stay, including La Divina Gelateria for a muffalino and gelato, Desire Bistro & Oyster Bar for oysters, Creole Delicacies for Mari Graw dip and a ton of other items and most significantly, breakfast at Brennan's, which was to-die-for! |

It was good weather for a walking tour. Great information about the food and the people who inspired it. A chef was our tour guide and he was familiar with the restaurants and the owners. It was a good behind the scenes
tour. The food was varied and good. We used it for our evening meal. We were not disappointed |

Great intro to New Orleans Restaurants

It was a great intro to New Orleans restaurants and what they had to offer, the samples were the size I expected, except for a regular sized bowl of turtle soup- don't be squeemish- it's delicious!! Tastes like a bolognese sauce or non-spicy chilli. The tour guide also gave us extra tips on how to to go to the expensive restaurants on the cheap- like the breakfast at Brennan's and that if you show up when it's not busy, they won't be mad if you only order the banana's foster (they invented this dessert). There were more tips, can't remember them all, but that's why I wished I did this tour the first day. We also sampled shrimp remoulade from Arnaud's, muffaletta and gelato at La Divina, turtle soup from Desire Oyster Bar, Beef Brisket and horse radish from Tujague's, seafood gumbo from Antoine's, Mardi Gras dip (I think it's just mayo+sour cream+Joe's stuff seasoning from the new orleans school of cooking or maybe just a cajun seasoning- really good, though), beans and rice from a store by St Louis cathedral, and praline's from Leah's. We also got a short lecture on New Orleans history and information about some of the century old restaurants in New Orleans as well as a tour of some of the private dining rooms and kitchen at Brennan's. |

This culinary tour combines local history and food culture of New Orleans. This is like two tours in one! It was wonderfully explained, funny and lively. The tour guide seemed intimately familiar with the people and the places we visited. The food we sampled was a great representation of the multicultural and varied cuisine available here in this city. As a local taking out of towners on this tour, I learned a lot and I managed to have my guests taste some of the treasures in some of the best restaurants. We would have had to spend a lot more time and money to taste and experience what was so wonderfully packaged int o this tour. |

Candy was a terrific tour guide. She was warm, friendly, and an excellent storyteller. She clearly loves this city, and her enthusiasm and knowledge were infectious. I wish the tastings included po boys and beignets since they're such quintessential New Orleans foods, as I would've liked to learn the history on those as well. That said, loved the tour and highly recommend. I've done other tours in New Orleans since, and none were as good as this one. |
