Our Guide, a former chef, was informative, relaxed and witty. I would recommend this to anyone - even non-foodies such as my family. Our guide wove in much of the history and folklore of New Orleans as well as instructions on creating each sample treat of each restaurant. The many proprietors of the different venues were friendly and made us feel welcome. |

The food on this tour is amazing. The guide was extremely knowledgeable in the history of the French Quarter and the preparation of the food. The staff at each stop was very friendly. This is a tour I would even recommend to locals. It's well worth the price. |

Starting at Antoinne's (the oldest restaurant in the French Quarter) there is just no way we could have seen the various dining rooms much less hear the history of fine dining in the French Quarter.
Chef George was an excellent tour guide and the tastings were great but should have been a larger servings as they were really tasty.
This is a must do tour! |

The tour guide was very informative and gave great historical background on the city, the food, and the restaurants we toured. The samples of food consisted of foods one thinks of when they hear "New Orleans." The whole experience was wonderful. I was with a 17 year old male who is not adventuresome when it comes to food and he tried everything. I was also traveling with my 19 year old son and my best friend and we all had different favorites so we were all satisfied; in fact we could not eat dinner as we were so full. I highly recommend this tour as it was a great introduction to New Orleans. |

Our tour guide Renee was very knowledgeable and informative. We enjoyed learning the history of the city and how it influenced the food. However there was so much history it was almost an overwhelming amount of information at times. All the samples were great! The guys in our group wished they were bigger, but they were "samples". We were there in July, and our tour guide was great about trying to keep us out of the heat and comfortable. I would highly recommend this tour. |

Guide gave too much personal information about himself. I really did not see what the point in telling about his ex-wife nor how he is on his mother's cell phone plan due to cost and what this had to do with the food or restaurants that we visited. Last place visited was the worst red beans and rice I have ever tasted, it tasted like a can of refried beans opened up and served. Last place was in a courtyard and the temperature was extremely hot without any kind of air movement. Nor were his lessons for tipping and how tipping should occur no matter how bad the service is was not necessary and totally uncalled for. Tipping is a way to give to staff for excellent service. He also asked that we not ask questions to the staff of restaurants nor to buy any items while there. We have been on food tours before and we were always given opportunity to purchase items while in shops and questions were welcomed. Should we return for another food tour in New Orleans, we would request not to have our guide again. The food was excellent except at the last shop. |
